“Great Family Steak Place”
Reviewed 24 July 2012 via mobile

Friday night we ate at the Smokehouse Grill at Deadwood in Bear Grass; a small town near Williamston, NC.  It was definately a place where the locals go.  I would expect to find this place out west, not NC.  It was like an old west saloon/restaurant.  We shared fried green tomatoes, a marinated steak and baked potato.  I know that we take a lot of time looking for local restaurants to try when we travel.  This week really shows why it is worth the trouble.  We have had really good food, not fancy, just good local places where the locals eat.

“Great food and fun for the whole family.”
Reviewed 26 June 2012

Had a great time at Deadwood NC. We went on a Friday night for dinner and to enjoy the park. I ordered the ribeye and was easily one of the best steaks I have ever had. My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla and enjoyed it. After dinner our son played on the playground and had lots of fun on the slides. Next we rode the train and enjoyed the alien theming. We finished the night with ice cream. Looking forward to our next trip to try out the coaster and mini golf. Overall this is a great place for families.

“Restaurant in a Theme Park”
Reviewed 25 June 2012

Such a cute idea - a restaurant inside an old west style theme park. Pretty standard fare, but we only eat certain things on the menu, anyway. We enjoyed the salad, and steaks were good. We walked around the theme park after dinner and wished our children were still small!

“Great Place for Adults and Children”
Reviewed 28 May 2012

Our family enjoys eating at Deadwood for a couple of reasons. Mainly, they have great food. A really good appetizer is the "Smokin' Onion" and their dipping sauce is really good, not too much horseradish like some other restaurant's serve. Their salad bar, although it appears small, has almost everything that I like: eggs, bacon, ham, bell peppers, green olives, etc. Just wish they had black olives and pepperoni's. There steaks and fajitas are terrific. I don't eat seafood, but my wife loves their skewers of shrimp. Also, their service is great. Everyone works together to make your visit enjoyable. The other reason we enjoy this place so much is the atmosphere. It is a western theme with a real miniature train that can ride adults, a small roller coaster, mini golf course, large playland for the kids, an ice cream shop, and video games. Usually not a very long wait except during Halloween when they have a haunted house, but the additional attractions make the wait fly by much quicker than at other places where the only entertainment is the crying kids. Check them out at http://www.deadwoodnc.com.
