When we checked, for a 3 night stay (at $200/night), we were given room 112. DON'T ever accept that room. It was truly filthy, with a over-the-top smoking smell (like couldn't sleep it was so smoky- and I smoke, outside of course). In the morning, I discovered that the blanket that my son slept under (for the hideway bed) had feces on it (and not just a small spot). Upon further inspection, the arm chair also had it smeared on there. I pointed this out to the front desk in we were moved to another room for our remaining 2 nights.

When we went to check out, we were charged for all 3 nights. I went to the front desk to complain, where the manager promptly removed 1 nights' charge. He was mostly apologetic, but this hotel was SO NOT UP to Marriott standards.

Breakfast items were not plentiful enough in the mornings; manager's reception was really insubstantial compared to other Residence Inns where we've stayed.

Also, the pool wasn't open. It was 87 degrees out and no reason why it should be closed, but something to do with it not being inspected yet?

Arrived on Friday, April 2, 2010. Hotel staff was friendly and check in was flawless. When I entered our room it was clean and well decorated. The hotel was close to the beach and restaurants.

I highly recommend this hotel for traveling families. Very children friendly.

Arrived at hotel and manager notified me that he upgraded us to a two bedroom suite because he noticed that we had 4 in our family. This is not out of the ordinary for this manager let me say, he is on top of his game as a manager. Once we checked into the room I must say it appeared to be very clean on the surface. However, once I opened the cabinet to get a glass I noticed several little black roaches running for their lives. This made us to look further around the room; and what a shock; the little black roaches were everywhere. In the tub, sink, stove, bed etc.... We notified the manager and he immediately came up with spray and towel and after he noticed that he didn't have enough to combat the bugs he requested to move us to another suite. We moved but the bugs were there also. Its a shame becuase this hotel and staff are truly ideal for families.

We are going back to Wilmington this weekend and cannot find a property to suit our needs.

People make all the difference in one's experience with a hotel and this is truly the case with the Residence Landfall. The stuff were amazing; friendly and helpful. Everyone went out of their way to talk with us and to make us feel at home.

Included in the price of our room were breakfast and a nightly manager's special which could have taken the place of dining out. Overall it was a good value for the money paid.

Location was excellent though a little difficult to find initially. I would suggest a bigger sign that could be seen from the other side of the highway. The Inn is located directly across the street from Mayfaire which offers great shopping and restaurants and within 5 minutes of Wrightsville Beach.

Rooms could use a little updating. Although they are huge in size, furniture placement was awkward in the double bedded suite. Lighting was a little on the dim side.

The hotel is attractive in appearance. A real gem and worth going back to.

Our home was destroyed by lightning on 6/27 and we stayed here for the next 130 days. The management and staff wen't out of their way to make us feel like family. From Dan and Dean, the staff including Sarah, we were made to feel at home from the beginning. The night of the fire the hotel was sold out and they made room for us. We will stay here again and because of the people at this hotel we will remain loyal to Marriott Hotels forever.
