We mistakenly thought that Wilmington was a small place and chose the hotel for one night only on our road trip towards the Outer Banks. Wilmington is a large city and the hotel is not close to the historic or sea front districts. The rooms are spacious, well furnished and clean. The rooms make it feel like a more upmarket style of hotel but for very reasonable prices. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel quiet. Breakfast was fair but good enough. The person on the check in desk was distracted and became highly confusing when she tried to explain that our booking through Expedia meant that we wouldn't get the room that Expedia had offered. (The room did have what she said it wouldn't). We took a taxi to the historic water front for dinner that night and found that there were few hotels in that area anyway. We liked Wilmington.More
