“One of the best hotels I've stayed at in years!”
Reviewed 19 July 2010

Having never been to the area I wasn't sure where to stay. Ours was a last minute road trip down from the Boston area. I found a great deal on priceline and felt comfortable with all the rave reviews here. The hotel was perfect for us. Close to Wrightsville Beach and easy to get to downtown Wilmington. The rooms are very clean and modern. We had a king suite which was such a deal! And I'm still raving about the complimentary breakfast buffet. I've never seen anything that expansive at a "complimentary" hotel breakfast. All of the staff were extremely pleasant and their reccomendations were great. If you are travelling to this area and don't know where to stay check this hotel out. You can't bet the price and the service and the wonderful accomadations. Really one of the best places I've stayed at in a long long time.

Me and three friends travelled to Wilmington at the end of June for a fortnight and stayed in a suite at this hotel. From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out, we received such a warm welcome and ultimately had the most amazing time because of it.

Everyone at the hotel is incredibly friendly and by the end of the two weeks we had become used to faces and names, and they treated us more like old friends than guests at their hotel!

If we had any problems, we would just report it to reception and someone would sort it out straight away. What more could you ask for?

Our suite was fantastic, and the fridge and microwave proved very useful during our stay. We had two flat screen TVs too which was brilliant, and the bathroom is huge! Particularly good for a group of girls!

The free breakfast is truly fantastic. Such a huge selection of items that are well stocked and possibly the best free breakfast I have ever seen.

Other things we loved included... the free internet in the hotel lobby (as we were from England and my laptop died, this was a very positive thing for us!), the free tea/coffee in the lobby, the friendliness of staff, the cheap laundry room, the cleaniness of the hotel throughout ,the beautiful suite we had plus much much more.

It is perfectly situated in between downtown and the beach, both are very easy to get to by car. It is also just off Market Street meaning you are close to local restaurants and also Wal-Mart and target so you can stock up on drinks (a must if you go in the hot weather!)

As mentioned above, we felt happy our whole time in this hotel. the friendliness of staff was superb and I would definitely use this hotel again (in fact, I will be next year!)

Staff members who made a big impression on us were Steve, Caitlin, Archie and Kyle. We also had great experiences with other staff members but didn't take their names unfortunately. All of these people treated us so well and it was nice to have familiar faces who were so polite and would engage in a conversation with you.

Truly fantastic. Thank you for a brilliant stay!

I frequent Wilmington but this is my first time to the Fairfield Inn. You can not beat this place for value and service. The hotel is conveniently located to the beach and other other areas of Wilmington. I stayed three nights and was extremely satisfied with my stay. I will definately come back to this hotel.

Clean rooms, good mattress--which is critical for me. Little bit noisy with kids running around, but not too bad. Pretty good location- only a few minutes to the beach or downtown. On a pretty busy street- little difficult to turn left onto, but manageable.

We were very pleased with this hotel on Eastwood. Having never been to Wilmington before, we thought we wanted Market Street...but it is so busy and congested, we are very glad to stay at the Fairfield. We always think hotels are pricey, but really were pleased with this. We had a suite so had a bed area and also a seating area with TV's in both. It worked great for us as we were with another couple and were able to socialize in each other's rooms since there was actually sitting room other than sitting on a bed! Breakfast is free and plenty of choices for a self-serve.

This is a great hotel. It is near a busy intersection, but you are fairly close to everything. I used this hotel for a business trip because the Sunspree was sold old. I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed my stay here. I had a suite for only $120 a night! Everything was clean and I slept like a rock in their comfy bed. The shower was large and the amenities were nice (from Bath & Body Works).
Breakfast: only continental, cold breakfast or hot things you could microwave, but Ihop is right around the corner.
Front Desk: this is where they could improve. I dealt with the same girl, twice, who was not particularly helpful. Nothing bad happened, it was just that she seemed slow and confused.
This hotel is only a year old, so if you don't mind not being on the beach, check it out. For the rates and the fun-colored rooms, it is worth the great deal you will get!

We stayed with extended family for a family event and it was perfect. Easy to get downtown & to the beach. The beds were very comfortable. The dining area is larger & more cheerful & inviting than most in 'economy' hotels, that was a high point - to have a nice place to gather with others staying there, in the morning, over breakfast. I appreciated the colorful and clean design of rooms & common areas. Most of all, the staff was outgoing and courteous, they greeted you with energy and welcomed your greeting. Also, the hotel was pretty full but our room was quiet, so the sound insulation must have been done pretty well.
