“An episode of Hotel Hell!”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

I thought I was on an episode of Hotel Hell and we waited for Chef Ramsey to appear. Entered the room to the stronger odor ever. We could not breathe, had to open the windows and turn up the AC. Room was very dusty behind the beds and both of us are allergic to dust. We had to take allergy medicine in order to breathe and my daughter sneezed all weekend. Carpets stained, bed linens had several holes and cigarette burns. Dirty tissues on the floor beside the trashcans. The beds were hard and had a lump in the middle. We were afraid to eat the complimentary breakfast. The shower knob fell off. Went to get some lunch and when returned the room door was not locked. Contacted front desk because we could not get the door to lock. Was told to lift the door knob to lock but could not figure it out. Contacted desk again and was told someone would be up to check it. After several more calls to front desk someone arrived over 2 hrs later to tell me that the hotel doors are warped and despite filing them down the holes still don't line up so I would literally need to lift the door up so that it would match up with the door hinge. By this time we were too exhausted to go out anywhere so that was a wasted evening. During the phone calls to the desk I asked to be moved to another room and was told in a very unprofessional voice that the hotel was booked so no. The young lady I had been speaking to was very unprofessional and had an attitude. We tried finding another hotel to no avail since our room was non refundable. Needless to say we will never return.

This is our second time staying here. We have a dog so being pet friendly is a plus. The last time we stayed which was about 4 years ago, my dog came home with fleas. :( I hope not the case this time. Good breakfast, pleasant staff and room was clean. Enjoyed the pool. Room key only worked part of the time, no biggie. Good location. We will stay here again in the future. ONE Negative - PLEASE REPLACE THE CARPETS, THEY ARE GROSS!!!! Thanks!!!!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Jameson Inn in Wilmington, The hotel was overall average- the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and the location was good for shopping. The pool was nice but needed some cleaning and the breakfast was ok, somewhere between a continental breakfast and a buffet. The walls seemed somewhat thin because you can hear conversations in adjacent rooms and the hallway, but the room air conditioners drown them out for the most part ;-)
I would probably stay here again if I got another good deal.

I don't even know where to begin.
The woman at the front desk was not friendly at all and had an attitude. The Room smelled so bad like some horrendous smelling cleaning product or fragrance trying to cover up cigarette smell. We had to open the window to try to air it out. The room looked like it's the same decor since the 70s. The carpets were filthy! Dust and dirt everywhere in the room. It was so bad our allergies got bad and we were miserable sneezing and congested the whole trip. We contemplated booking a room elsewhere. The sheets were stained and my blanket had holes in it. When I went to turn on the shower the handle fell off and the whole faucet was loose on the wall. We realized after coming back from dinner the first night our door was unlocked. We couldn't get the door to lock front desk said lift the handle up. Um what? It took over 2 hours for a guy to come help us lock the door. He had to EXPLAIN HOW TO CLOSE THE DOOR! It was like a rigging you had to do to get it to close. Ridiculous! The pool is big enough for like 4 people and the gym had machines out of order. We were so disgusted we didn't even attempt to try their breakfast. This place needs to be on the show Hotel Hell.
The only plus about this place is the location. But the experience is not worth the convenience.

We stayed at this property in March and again in August and there are a lot of things we like about it. Nice size rooms, convenient, allows pets, good shower, good beds/pillows, clean rooms. Front desk and cleaning staff were pleasant and helpful. The only negatives: there was water damage on the ceiling of the bathroom that was unbecoming. The carpets throughout the property need to be updated. Overall though, we really like this hotel and will return.

I got a great deal thru priceline so I will keep in mind you get what you pay for. The room was clean and well appointed. We could only get a smoking room so that was definite negative. The staff was pleasant . We encountered a bed that was a bit unstable and keys that did not work all things I can overlook as as that is life! Too much air freshener tho. I would stay again if I got another great deal and a non smoke room !

This hotel was really nice. We enjoyed our stay, and the rooms were clean as well as everything else. We looked at other hotels, but found this one to be better than the ones we looked at. We were very pleased with the staff at the front desk also, vety helpful and had such a wonderful attitude.

Room Tip: Very good price also.
