“Interesting Home and History”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

This home has knowledgeable tour guides that tell the very interesting history of this home. The home is beautiful with several floors but not fully furnished. Be aware there are lots of stairs and no acessability for the handicapped. The gardens are well maintained and there is a small gift shop on the premises. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in downtown Wilmington.

“Great history and very nice restoration”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

Very nice presentation and history of the house followed by a detailed tour. This house is very authentic and in good condition for its age, wonderful architectural moldings throughout. The family story that surrounds it is captivating, the details of its restoration are equally interesting.

“Beautiful home”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

This is a beautifully restored home but is lacking due to the sparse furnishings. The tour guide was very knowledgeable however was unprofessional in her attire.

“Great place to take a tour”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

This is a great place to take a tour. The tour guides do a great job and provide lots of historical context in the house. The most interesting thing about this house is that the daughter of the original owners kept very detailed records about the construction, staffing, maintenance, and events at this house, so more detail about it is known than most other historical sites. Highly recommended.

“Love historic houses”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Went here on a rainy afternoon, and self-toured, as the guided tours seemed rather few and far between. The house is gorgeous, and its history is interesting. Glad we stopped in.
