“Easy to Navigate and Nice Views”
Reviewed 5 December 2013

Downtown Wilmington has many local eateries, a children's museum, great shops owned by local business people and a walking path by the water. Very nice indeed.

Took in some of the sights and found that everything was easy to find and the food, coffee and dessert shops were very good. Parking was not too hard to find and the walking area by the water was really nice.

Worth a visit!

“Southern Hospitality !”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

Enjoy the slow pace and southern charm of this historically filled area. Cotton Exchange is great for shopping but has all the usual tourist goods but there are a few shops that are out of the ordinary and worth checking out. The tea shop, the herbal/aroma shop and the Celtic shop are worth a second look. Also tour as many of the historic homes in the downtown area as you can. They are all magnificent and very interesting and admission includes guided tours conducted by the area historical society staff. Admission prices can be steep at $20 per person but it's well worth it for the personal tour and you're helping to support the historical society organization. Parking downtown is at most times a challenge especially if you're a first time visitor. Be sure to get a free street map of downtown to plan your first outing or just ask any friendly passer by for help.

“As towns go......”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

It's one of the best for a look at historical buildings, a nice river walk, river tours, cafe's and bars and parking is relatively easy. We were there on a day visit starting with a visit to USS North Carolina a historical warship moored on the other side of the river then over to Wilmington to board the trolley bus for tour around. Pricing for food is very low compared to most "touristy" areas and quality good. It's also a short drive to Carolina and Kure beaches along with the Forts and other tourist attractions. We were only there a day and could easily have found plenty to do for a weekend.

“Charming downtown Wilmington, NC”
Reviewed 30 October 2013

Great place to visit. Many old charming houses, Citi Hall with own Replica Statue of Liberty, Museums, shops and restaurants, nice waterfront. Attractions are within walking distance and there is also free hop on/off trolley shuttle. People are nice and prices are affordable. This is a place to come back anytime.
