When I asked how the hostess's day was going she said, "livin the dream"....kind of strange. Then our waitress went on to tell us management was visiting that day so if she was at our table alot it wasn't her fault...it was "theirs" with an eye roll...very weird. Food though was good.

Consistency in food prepration and reasonably prompt service are two of the strengths of this restaurant chain. The dinner for two for $20 is the best value choice. The accompanying appetizers are good and ample in size.

There were four of us who were looking forward to a good meal after having spent the last eleven hours in the woods. We were promptly seated at a table but it was more than five minutes before our drink order was taken. Each one of us ordered something different, three cheese chicken penne, fish and chips, a trio platter, and another chicken dish. All of us agreed that our food was good. Our waiter checked on us once during our meal but never offered to refill our drinks. He was too busy watching one of the televisions in the place. When we were given our bills, we all paid in cash. In my case he didn't give me the correct amount of change. It was a dollar short.

Typical looking Applebee's with nice decor. You usually dine at a restaurant because you like the food. This chain used to be pretty good, but in this restaurant, not true. We had a skimpy quesadilla that was only filled towards the center of the tortilla, and it was very dry. 1/12 to 1/4 of the tortilla had no filling, and what was in there wasn't much. We also had a half-order fried chicken salad. Seemed a very small half for the price, and the lettuce was barely cool, was 'wimpy,' and had no crunch to it like good lettuce should have. Certain leaves of the mixed lettuce was also bitter. Kind of like they had the greens sitting out at room temperature instead of in a chiller. NO quality control in that kitchen! Needless to say, can't think of another time we'd be back to this chain. We only went there because it was across the street from our hotel in Wilmington.
