The kids love feeding the enormous coi fish. My grandma loves to walk through the rise garden. I love the scenery and picnicking on the lawn. Something for everyone!

“Free Gardens in Wilmington”
Reviewed 3 November 2013

This place is pretty unbelievable when you think about the fact that it's run by many volunteers and it's free to the public year round. For that, it's very very well maintained. They have a great koi pond in the middle where you can buy little fish pellets to feed the fish and (occasionally) turtles. As a challenge, try to take a good picture of the dragon in the pond. It can be surprisingly difficult to get a really great shot of it.
It's divided into little sections, with the coolest ones (in my opinion) being the rose garden and the Japanese tea house. It's really worth a visit to see, especially in the summer when it's open until sundown.

“A little gem”
Reviewed 3 November 2013

Really loved this arboretum. Beautifully done, especially the Japanese garden. The children's garden was really lovely and engaged our toddler for quite a while, as did the butterfly garden. Would definitely go back. Lots of nice photo ops here!

I can't believe we haven't gone there sooner. This place is beautiful and free, it doesn't get much better than that.
