“Beautiful Home Close to Down Town Wilmington”
Reviewed 15 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

I went this weekend with my family to Wilmington (for a family members graduation from Cape Fear Community College). The home is about 5 minutes from downtown Wilmington. It's on an end street, so plenty of parking! It's close to the highway, but I didn't have any complaints about the noise from the front bedroom - I slept like a log!

The house itself is beautiful! 3 bedrooms, two living room areas, and large, fully stocked kitchen (tools and utensils, not food of course). Though the kitchen did have lots of little extras, like plenty of salt and pepper and spices, so if we forgot anything, we didn't have to rush out and buy it!

There was only one bathroom, but it has a big claw foot tub with AMAZING water pressure in the shower) and two sinks.

Two of the bedrooms had ceiling fans, so if you need those to sleep, they've got you covered!

The back yard is HUGE, and fenced in. We ate out back each morning, and it was so wonderful! Lots of shady areas, so the heat was not bad at all.

The home entrance is up a few stairs, so if mobility is difficult, you may want to find a different home. The key was not a problem - there was a lock box, and the owner stored the key inside for us to get when we got there.

As for entertainment (you're on vacation - get out of the house!!), there is a record player with an amazing record collection, and a television, as well as Wifi. There is no cable on the tv, however there is a blue ray player with a few dvds, and the blue ray player itself has access to Netlfix. The tv has an HDMI hook up if you want to connect it to your laptop though, and stream through there. The one living room has a futon couch, and the other living room with the TV has a large sofa, and a rocking recliner (like a lazy boy).

I have zero complaints about this home. If I go to Wilmington, I will absolutely stay here again!!!

“The perfect place for family time in Wilmington/Riverfront!”
Reviewed 15 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Our family LOVED our stay at this charming, spacious and hip historic downtown Wilmington home. Great location -- off the beaten path - yet a very quick drive to everything and everywhere! (4 minutes to Market Street/downtown).

When you first walk up the brick steps to the huge covered porch - you'll wish you had a mint julep in your hand to sip and sit a while to enjoy the breeze! And when you open the two red front doors, you'll find a beautifully restored and modernized home with large and comfortable bedrooms, furniture and lots of family friendly amenities!

Each of the three spacious bedrooms were beautifully decorated with plenty of room to unpack and hang your clothing - and the beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was bright and spacious and offered everything we needed to cook our meals and entertain.

My husband and I, our two adult children and their spouses visited to attend my youngest daughter's college graduation - and it was really great to see everyone gathered on the porch to talk, and in the music room listening to retro albums and having fun -- and they all got along the whole time!

The fenced-in backyard offered us privacy and was the perfect place for our little dog to play and chase the ball. We all couldn't get over the huge tree in the back yard and everyone enjoyed taking turns on the swings!

Kelly R was very responsive to my questions and messages and a true pleasure to work with. We had plenty of parking for everyone and everything was wonderful. I highly recommend this great home and convenient location to anyone who is planning to visit Wilmington and the Downtown/Riverfront/Cape Fear Community College area!

Not only was it my daughters graduation - it was Mother's Day weekend, and I seriously had the best mother's day ever! Thank you Kelly R. for providing us with such a great home to gather my family so we could all celebrate together!

“Cute Cottage close to Downtown”
Reviewed 25 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

My husband and I, and our daughter and boyfriend stayed at this cute old cottage at the end of historical 2nd Street. The house was well set up with a full kitchen, a bathroom with a claw footed bath, and 3 bedrooms. We only used 2 of them. It also had a lounge room with a TV and a separate room which was set up for children. The bedrooms were large and the beds very comfortable.
There was a laundry out back which was very handy.
There is a large yard, but we didn't use this, but it would be handy with children.
There is off street parking and you could also park safely out the front, as it is a dead end street.
The freeway entry is across the road from the house, but we didn't hear any noise in our bedroom at the front.
The house is within walking distance of downtown(about 10 mins) and the walk is down a very beautiful street with lots of old homes. We shopped at Whole Foods, which was about 10 mins drive away. If you need basic things like milk or alcohol, there is a small general store downtown.
My only suggestion to the owner is that they provide a compendium with a map, local details(such as shops and restaurants) and things to do in Wilmington. Also details for WIFI access.

“Perfectly wonderful home for a family vacation in Wilmington!”
Reviewed 9 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

I rented this house for our family to attend a friend's wedding that was held in downtown Wilmington. What a perfect location for access to the waterfront of Wilmington and all the shops and restaurants. The house was lovely in every way. Plenty of room and beautifully decorated. Kitchen clean and well stocked. Lots of family friendly touches including back yard swings and a trampoline. Thanks goodness the air conditioning was good because we were there during a really hot time. The location is at the end of a street in a beautiful historic neighborhood. It is very close to a highway off ramp but was never a problem for us, just convenient. We would love to return for another visit!

“Lovely, unique house in Wilimgton - Perfect for a group of couples!”
Reviewed 27 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We truly enjoyed our visit to Wilmington while staying in this beautiful and unique house! The bedrooms were spacious, the living room area was perfect for late-night talks after a night out, and the kitchen was perfect for making a big breakfast for the family. As there was only one bathroom (though spacious), we had to schedule shower times but this actually kept everyone on time for our events! We would definitely stay here again!!!

“Charming, well equipped home close to downtown.”
Reviewed 21 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We rented this house for a long weekend. The location was great, as it was only a few blocks from downtown Wilmington. We loved the house in general. Each of the three bedrooms was good-sized, with comfortable king and queen sized beds. The common areas of the house were well equipped with speakers, a TV, some movies, games for children, etc. They were both nice areas to sit down in and relax for the evening with my family.

Our one complaint was the house was pretty cold. The weekend that we were down there was very cold by Wilmington's standards, but the heating did not seem responsive to our changes on the thermostat.

The house itself was very cute, with charming architecture and features. We loved the claw-foot tub in the bathroom. There was a nice big backyard that we didn't use as it was cold, but I'm sure would be a really great recreational area during the warmer months.
