“The Graystone Inn; a little taste of Tara”
Reviewed 17 April 2013

Despite the austere facade, this mansion is warm and cozy with luxurious rooms and fixings. Surrounded by beautiful antiques and artwork, there is the excitement of going back in time and witnessing what real luxury is all about. Start the day in the gorgeous dining room with an incredible gourmet breakfast and great conversation with other travelers. Hot and tired after sightseeing? Nap in a four poster, relax in a huge claw foot tub then head to the library or side porch for a cold glass of wine. For most of the day explore the neighborhood, the exciting and nostalgic historic district right outside the door. Innkeepers Rich and Marcia have ingeniously combined their northern roots with southern hospitality making their guests feel special and your stay a comfortable and memorable occasion.

My husband and I met another couple at The Graystone Inn and had a marvelous weekend during the NC Azalea Festival. Marcia and Rich were excellent hosts and the breakfasts were delicious! I agree with CAgadabout's review, you feel like you are "in a place normally reserved for the "rich and famous"."

Graystone Inn is not your typical B&B....it's an elegant mansion. Very clean and service top notch. The owners make you feel as if you hit the lottery and are now living in a place normally reserved for the "rich and famous". Best B&B we ever stayed in and look to return.

We stayed her for a couple of nights in the St. Thomas room, and loved it. The public rooms are quite large and beautifully decorated. Our room was a good size and had a lovely nook with window seats. It was sparkling clean everywhere. The gourmet breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We left there stuffed! The location is great - right in the middle of the historic district, and within walking distance of everything. This elegant inn would be a wonderful place for a wedding or special event.

My recent stay at the Graystone Inn was amazing! This historic 1905 mansion is incredible! The front garden is impeccably manicured and the mansion is beautifully furnished in period furniture throughout. The library is very comfortable and a great place to gather with friends to relax and talk. The guest rooms are comfortably appointed in beautiful furniture. Marcia and Richard are wonderful hosts and served a delicious breakfast. If you've never been to a B&B, this is the one to try! Within easy walking distance of all the sights in Wilmington.

Room Tip: The Bridgers Room on the 2nd floor is very spacious and has a very comfortable king size bed. The S...

We did the midweek romance package... Two nights, wine, dinner for two at Deluxe, and of course breakfast in the morning. Huge B&B... Huge!!! The rooms were awesome, the set-up was great. Had an issue with our bill but they immediately resolved it. Parking wasn't an issue either. Walking distance to everything in Old Town Wilminton. We'll be back!

Room Tip: Spend the extra few bucks, we grabbed the St. Thomas Room.
