Red Roof Inn Wilmington
Ranked #40 of 45 Hotels in Wilmington

My Wife and I and our 2 dogs stayed at this amazing hotel. The staff was extremely friendly going out there way to make us comfortable.

Our room was ready when we arrived. We got a 2 queens deluxe for $50/night it was part of a red hot deal that I pick up online. A deluxe room includes a microwave and a small Refrig

I'm a Red Card member but I believe this price is for everyone.

This Red Roof had a beautiful looking swimming pool, 2 ice machines, hot coffee all day, Dunkin Donuts, a sushi place, a noodle place and a Waffle house are accessible from the parking lot meaning you walk from one parking lot to the other, Pet Smart(larger plaza other store , Hooters, are across the street

This is a pet friendly facility with no charge....(you don't know awesome that is until you pay $30/dog/night)

Historical Wilmington is a few miles down the road on market st. filming IRONMAN 3 presently.

I chose to stay at the Red Roof Inn because of the good reviews I read about this hotel, and I am glad I did. I was able to reserve a room and was given a 10% discount for booking for only one night. I paid $57 for a room with two pillowtop double beds. Refrigerator and microwave are provided. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was provided and included muffins, bagels, pastries, dry cereal, coffee and juices. I am happy to have found an affordable place to stay, we will be back.

We've stayed at this hotel several times when visiting Wilmington for the beach/downtown scene. Let me start by saying, if your expecting $300 a night accommodations for the low rate this Red Roof charges, don't waste your time. However, if you are realistic with yourself and the price you are paying, I am confident you will find that this is a good hotel that more than delivers. Your pretty much only gonna be in the room to shower and sleep anyway, right? Yes, the towels are a little rough, in some areas the property is a bit worn, and the landscaping needed more mulch, but the front desk staff is good, the manager takes any concern we ever had seriously (thanks James!), and the rooms are pretty clean. The hotel parking lot was relatively full during the week of our most recent stay at all times, and the patrons were just normal working class people. We didnt see or experience anything that looked shady, and encountered business people, construction workers, and vacationers throughout the week. On our most recent stay we noticed a room that was in the process of being renovated, new plaster/paint on the walls, etc. Our room seemed to have relatively nice walls, ie, paint was fresh looking, no scuff marks, etc. Hopefully they continue to do this and improve ALL their rooms. This would really make this hotel unbeatable when combined with the nice pool area they have that includes lounging chairs as well as some tables/chairs with big shade umbrellas.

All in all the hotel is good and seems as though they're trying to improve as we witnessed them doing major work on a room as I mentioned. If they can get all the rooms done quickly this will be a great hotel all around. We prefer to stay on the second floor as it seemed to cut down the noise a bit from people in and out of their cars in the parking lot, etc. Breakfast was decent, had enough stuff to get something in your belly and save the $ you'd spend from going out. There is plenty of food on Market Street.

I normally don't write reviews, but thought I needed to. We are a family of 3. Lived in Wilmington for 2 years, and we came back this past weekend to visit and do some diving. I was nervous when my husband said we we staying here, based on the reviews that I read. Don't believe them. You can tell that management is trying to better the hotel. The first room we checked into has just had the carpets cleaned and the rug was wet. In less then a minute they had us in a new room. The room was clean, had a fridge and microwave. Only bad thing I would say on room is it is not 2 queen beds, but 2 full size beds. But not a problem for us. Breakfast had 3 choices of cereals, 4 different pastries, muffins, and 3 different bagel options. With juice, coffee and tea. Which worked just fine for us and saved us $20 from having to eat breakfast out. If that's not enough choices waffle house is right next store, so is chick fil a.

For those reading reviews, this isn't a 5 star Marriott, but for the price and location it is great. Close to beach and downtown.

The housekeeper even made up my daughters bed all nice and pretty with her blankets, pillow and dolls the one morning. Every time we walked past an employee they were very polite. We will stay again.

I am a Red Roof RediCard member and I always stay at Red Roof Inns whenever possible. I have stayed at this particular location several times before whenever I am in Wilmington to visit the USS NORTH CAROLINA. However, in the two years that I have stayed here; it has gone straight downhill. I checked in late Saturday night (22-October-2011). While bringing my belongings into the first floor room #121; I witnessed drug use in the parking lot and other riff-raff walking about. People were partying loudly and were constantly going in and out of rooms. I stopped one guy from stealing an orange traffic cone near a parked truck.
When I woke up Sunday morning, I got out of the shower to find that there were absolutely no towels and wash cloths in the room and bathroom! I had to air dry. Maybe I should have noticed this when I first checked into the room (#121), but it was late and I was tired. I also took it for granted that there would be towels. When I saw housekeeping at another room; I politely told her the situation, but she looked at me like I was from Mars. The desk staff was not much more helpful, but I finally got towels for the next day.
There was also a cockroach walking on the wall, rusty towel racks and fittings, and the kleenex container fell out of the wall. I photographed all of the aforementioned and they are posted here. When I brought all these issues up to the desk staff during check-out; they should not have charged me for at least Saturday night (the first of my two night stay). But I did not suggest it and they certainly did not make any offers to do so, or any apologies either. Beware of this hotel!

Room Tip: Don't stay here!

Great beds! Room furniture could use an upgrade but the beds make up for it by far! Decent location - Target plaza across street. Great staff.
