I love this Hotel. The staff is always very helpful and courteous. Especially Ronnie, Karen, Wayne and Debra. My Husband and I stay here always when we have the Jehovahs Witness Conventions and I havent been disappointed.

Room Tip: Room 215,218 and 220 are really good and close to the Breakfast area.

Our stay was the best. The staff was so helpful giving us accurate information and directions around the entire area. We all appreciated the shuttle service to the medical center; we could not have gotten around without this service. Our breakfasts were fresh, and excellent quality. Also the bistro for dinner was very good.
The rooms were extremely clean and the inn was well kept.
I highly recommend the inn for pleasure or just to be with family members while they are patients at the hospital.

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor it was convenient to the lobby and parking.

Have stayed at the Hawthorne Inn several times this year for business. The hotel was well maintained throughout. Rooms were clean, modern and equipped with microwave and refrigerator. Beds were comfortable but not exceptional. First rate service from a friendly staff on all visits. The free breakfast gives many choices beyond the typical hotel choices and includes something for everyone. On site restaurant plus several restaurants within short walk. It was a short (4 block) walk to the center of Winston-Salem. Quiet part of town near two colleges and historic area. Also attended a conference and was very pleased with meeting/seminar facilities. A lot of value for the money at this hotel.

Room Tip: Nice view of city from upper floors (5-6-7). I would avoid rooms on 2nd floor (main floor of hotel...

I always enjoy the Hawthorne; it's like going to a friend's house. The front office always remembers my name. The room is always clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are always good...and always free.

One suggestion, sell Sunday papers at the front desk to prevent the theft of papers for the coupons.

Room Tip: All rooms are good, suites are spaceous. Pets are welcome.

For a very reasonable price, I was able to have a clean, neat, comfortable room. The beds were reasonably comfortable, there was a microwave provided, the pillows were soft. I appreciated the channel guide card on the nightstand!

The bathroom was very small, but had clearly been recently remodeled - everything seemed brand new, as did most of the furnishings in the room overall.

The free breakfast was pretty typical of free breakfast - simple, but fulfills all the basic requirements.

If you walk down Brookstown (I think that's the name) Street for a bit, you hit the Strollway, which lets you take a pretty short walk either to downtown or Old Salem. It's a pleasant place for an evening or morning stroll and a nice way to avoid using the car.

I feel I got an excellent value for my money and would definitely stay again.

We found the room clean, spacious, and quiet. Outside noise was nominal. The service was exceptional. To have the option to assist in saving the environment through reuse of linens was attractive. The bath was clean and attractive, though it could use some venting. The convenience of the restaurant was a gracious addition and the quality of the food was quite high. Overall, the visit to the Hawthorne Inn was very pleasant.

The hotel is a little older, but the staff was very friendly and the overall property is well kept. If you stay there, breakfast is not in the restaurant but in some other room. (If there is a sign, i didn’t see it.) The room was not opulent, but is clean, quiet and the bed was comfortable. The training facility was very nice.
Getting there is very tricky if traveling west bound on hwy 40 and it is your first time. When checking in, the desk is not near the rooms and the check in parking area is very small. It almost makes more sense to park near the rooms and walk to the desk through the hotel if it is busy.
Finally, i didn’t want to eat at the hotel and i wanted to try something different. Driving over to Fourth Street for the restaurants promoted in the city visitor guide turned up a fairly anemic selection. My choice was disappointing and even more frustrating when i noticed a Mexican restaurant across the parking lot.
