“Well Worth a Visit”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

Not having read the reviews and being use to large zoo's like Busch Gardens and Animal Kingdom, I had pretty low expectations but this small zoo certainly exceeded those expectations and I was impressed with the numerous animals and the well maintained habitats. Not only were there were species that I hadn't seen anywhere such as the bactrian camels (see picture) but you got a much closer up view than you were typically get in a large zoo. Overall a great visit and if you're traveling to or through Fargo, I highly recommended it.

“Small, Sweet, and Beautiful.”
Reviewed 15 May 2014

I haven't been to The Red River Zoo in a long time. I used to live up there and relished every single visit. The animals there are all amazing, especially the Pallas Cats. Who knew a cat could be so fluffy? The animals are all unique and a pleasure to look at. The gift shop is awesome, and there are always beautiful peacocks roaming around. Nowadays, whenever I hear one I am reminded of this amazing zoo. It is perfect for kids, and the prices are all awesome. This zoo... Is amazing. It's a missed opportunity if you do not visit it.

“Wedding at the Red River Zoo!”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

We held both our wedding ceremony and reception at the Red River Zoo. What a lovely location! We rented a tent and the carousel pavilion which created a unique and memorable environment. We were so pleased with the detail oriented staff who made sure the big day went perfectly for us. Guests of all ages enjoyed strolling along the path while viewing the variety of creatures, riding the colorful carousel, and dancing the night away in the softly lit and natural setting. The event took place in August and months later we are still getting compliments on our location choice. We have visited the zoo since and they now have a wonderful otter exhibit. We are excited to see the zoo growing! I could not recommend this zoo more, not just for a wedding, but for a fun day of activities and animal education. Thank you Red River Zoo! “Great place for kids!”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

Our family bought a zoo pass for the summer, and my kid loves the zoo! We went for an Earth day celebration. They had activities and other things around the zoo for children of all ages. If you are ever looking to kill some time in Fargo with kids, this is a very good place to go.

“Great Small Zoo”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

Zoos are a favorite of us, and the Red River Zoo didn't disappoint. While it is small, they have narrowed their focus to cold climate animals, so we saw quite a few we had never seen or even heard of before. The exhibits and grounds were well-maintained, and the staff were more than willing to engage with visitors.

We spent about two hours touring the zoo, including lots of time to stop and observe the animals; it was a mild day when we went, so they were quite active. The signs outside each enclosure had lots of "fun facts."
