We had a great lunch at the Blackbird. Our server was very attentive and definitely in her element. My friend wasn't feeling very well, so our server went out of her way to help her find something that she could eat. I will be back next time I visit.

This new place is a fantastic contribution to the food scene in Fargo/Moorhead. The pizza is hand-made from the freshest ingredients and dough made on the spot. Our favorite pizza is the wild mushroom, though we've had 6 other varieties, and they are all creative and tasty. They have both white and red sauces, and the white has become our favorite. The pizzas are cooked in a wood-fired oven and are ready in an amazingly short time. The service is friendly and fast. This is our go-to pizza place in the area, and we try to eat here at least once a week.

We stopped in Fargo for a stretch on a road trip, and after wandering a lovely street festival, simply stumbled in here for lunch. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised! Super-creative salads started our meal, and both of them were unique combinations of ingredients and great presentation. We shared a BLT pizza, and again, really unique approach to pizza. There are lots of fun craft bears and some wines. This place really surprised us. We are from Toronto where foodie places are in huge supply, and this place could compete with any of them :)

The toppings are fun and not like the run of the mill pizzas. The crust is nice and bread like. It is chewy and tasty. It isn't the thin and crispy but more chewy and with a nice texture. Good dough. Nice but it isn't your greatest dining experience or anything like that. It is a good pizza with fun creative toppings and tastes pretty good.

Having recently dined at Fireflour in Bismarck, I was hoping for a similar great experience at Blackbird Woodfire. Somehow, the Blackbird crust is lacking in taste. Overall the pizza is good - it's not your average commodity pizza - but the staff is still working out the kinks. Service is spotty and we were served the wrong pizza. We took it - it was good, just not great.
