“lots better in Fargo”
Reviewed 23 May 2011

stayed here May Long Weekend for the marathon. Paid the same as the year befor at the comfort inn suites next door and got nothing but a bad nites sleep. Pillows are aweful and hallways very noisy. No fridge or anything else in the room but internet. Room smells like smoke although non smoking room. Hot tub and pool smell so strongly of chlorine that you cant stay in the room. I think they got you with the marathon weekend being so busy they can charge what they want. They did get the breakfast out early for us and the staff was awesome.

Room Tip: comfort inn suites next door

I have stayed at this hotel many times within the last year, three times within the last month. I have never been dissapointed in this hotel. From the clean, decent sized rooms, great price, nice pool and hottub and continentail breakfast, you cant go wrong. I really love the service I get every time. Greeted very warmly and helpful staff. The night front desk worker always has a smile on his face and makes my hotel stay interesting every time.

Ok, for starters I am a housekeeper, so I know what to look for in a room. But it honestly would not have mattered with our stay, it was obvious to anyone with a pair of eyes how filthy the room was. It just looked like the maid threw the room together real quick, the bed wasn't even completely made. The dust in the room was terrible, it hadn't been dusted in who knows how long. I wasn't looking in hard to see spots either, it was right on top of the entertainment center, at eye level. The worst of it though was most definitely the bathroom. I have never seen so much hair in a hotel bathroom in my life! I can understand missing a hair or two, but this was way more than that, and it was all over the floor and the bathtub. Not to mention the mirrors were dirty and also the sink had never even been wiped out, it had crusted yellow stuff in it. I would have thought she never even cleaned it if there weren't clean towels. This place really needs a new head housekeeper, a dirty room is never acceptable.
On the plus side, the front desk service was wonderful, very friendly.

We stayed here one night prior to leaving on a trip. I had arranged to have the hotel hold two packages for me, only one was there on arrival but this was not Comfort Inn's fault. Front desk staff extremely helpful, really went beyond their obligation. In fact they were willing to hold my second package for 6 weeks which is when I have to return to Fargo. Very impressive for a cheaper facility. I can't remember the last time a business where I live wanted to take responsibility for anything.

Room was a good size, lots of room. Two chairs and desk, with lounger in the corner. Did not use TV. Bathroom was very nice, better that I would have expected, and very clean. Our room was at the end of the hall next to side exit, but we heard no traffic the whole night. Room key can be used to enter through this side door for easier vehicle access. The beds themselves were comfortable, but not the pillows. They were very small, very light and did not support the head very well. I had some trouble sleeping because of this. No noise during the night though. New-looking heat/ac unit which was very quite and worked perfectly according to set temperature. Very nice given the crappy, noisy, poor-functioning units at many motels.

Continental breakfast was waffles, muffins, toast, fruit, cereal, coffee, juice etc. Better than most motels with same. Front desk staff quick to replace coffee when asked.

Parking is free, outdoor. You can park on the sides and use key access for side doors is closer to your room.

Location is quite near west acres, and close enough to the airport which was our destination. I don't know anything else about Fargo.

Overall very happy with value for money, would stay again, maybe bring own pillow.

When you stay at a Comfort Inn on the side of an interstate, you know what you're going to get. It's not going to be the Ritz-Carlton or the W, but it will be a good, basic night's stay before you hit the road again. That's what I got at the Comfort Inn Fargo East.

The hotel is easy to find and is very convenient provided you have a car (although I would gather that visitors to Fargo without cars must be a rare breed). My ground-floor room was spacious and neat, and contained an extremely comfortable king-size bed. Even though the rest of the room was very Comfort Inn, the bed was more on par with what you'd get a higher-end establishment like Westin or Hilton. The bathrooms were about what you'd expect for a Comfort Inn, and they were clean.

The room comes with a complimentary continental breakfast, and there was a good basic selection of breakfast foods available. Service is passable, but sometimes you get the impression they aren't trying really hard - this was confirmed when I had to jump through a number of hoops to get an unauthorized charge to my credit card reversed. It all worked out in the end though, and the manager was very courteous about it.

The bottom line is that I'd stay here again.

We stayed for one night. The room was clean and comfortable. However, only one person could be in the bathroom at a time. The bathroom was too small to begin with, and the installation of a bow out shower curtain rod made it impossible to open the door all the way. Only one of us could use the room at a time which made it very inconvenient.

Stayed one night in November as we had GWAR to attend. good location, cab ride under 10.00$ to get to "the Venue"...room was clean....well almost. In the smallest fridge ever (but better than no fridge at all) the was undoubtedly the last guests 2 Litre of milk. At least it wasn't expired...LOL! the 25 inch TV was pretty crappy...but you could see most of the sports ticker on ESPN.
The girls at the front desk were really friendly and helpful which is nice 'cause that isn't always the case in hotels.
By the way...GWAR ROCKED...and I'd stay at the Comfort Inn East again.
