“Best Day of our Holiday! Amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2013

We visited Santa Caterina on our holiday in July, and it was the most amazing experience: Very friendly (multi-lingual) staff greeted us, and showed us a bit around the vineyard and told us a brief history of the Bodega. The wine we tasted was delicious, and once we'd selected which we liked they gave us a bottle of it and the most amazing hamper of traditional Spanish food!! (I am vegetarian and my boyfriend is a MASSIVE meat lover and there was enough in there for both of us to enjoy!)

We took it to a private bench in the vineyard which was so amazing!! No one else was around it was so quiet and tranquil and we could just chat, eat, drink and admire the stunning surroundings.

Was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and so peaceful. I would THOROUGHLY recommend anyone in Mallorca to visit!! I will be going back every time I'm there!

“Wine with a difference”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2013

This winery is somewhat isolated in the hilly south west of Majorca but well worth the trouble to locate. The setting is idyllic and the business end of the venture is within the mountain side so it is nice and cool if you are struggling with the heat of the day. We sat outside after a look at the vines which was conducted by Amy who then brought out wines to sample and explained in detail the different grapes and methods of production. It was a very interesting place to visit and I thoroughly recommend it to any tourist to the island.

“A must see/taste on a trip to Mallorca...the highlight of my 3 week vacation to Europe.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2013

Our family traveled on a Mediterranean Cruise in July of 2012. Before the cruise we spent 2 weeks touring Italy. Of all the places, Mallorca and Santa Catarina in particular, were the highlights of our trip. The island itself is beautiful and there seems to be enough for every member of the family. Unfortunately we were only there fore 12 hours, so we decided to do the wine tour through the cruise excursions.

The excursion started with a trip to the north shore, to see the beautiful views of the island. We then headed to a small city, Villdemossa, to take a short tour of that town. What a beautiful town in the mountains. We then headed to the winery.

As we were making our way up the narrow roads to the winery, our bus hit a ditch and broke down. At that point we were about 3.5 km from the winery, so we all decided to walk. As we walked up the mountain we got beautiful views of the harbor and the island. The owner of the winery heard that we were walking up the mountain so he brought down cold water bottles for us to have for the walk. Once we got to the tasting site, we were greeted with some small snacks and wine. After letting us settle down a bit, the owners brought out the four wines that we would try and they explained each one. Overall, we tried 1 white, 1 rose, and 2 reds. Each wine was just as delicious as the next. Because of our circumstance, instead of just a tasting, the owners allowed us pretty much to drink unlimited wine for over an hour. The wine was fresh and delicious. All of the flavors jumped out at you with each sip. I have had wine from napa valley, Italy, and France, and this wine was up there with all of the best. I wish we could get it in the states, but since they are such a small winery they only export to Europe.

We loved this place, and have made plans to take a family trip to Mallorca for a week in the future. If yo have the opportunity to get to Palma, be sure to visit La Bodega Stanta Catarina.

“Breathtaking landscape, wonderful people, delectable wine!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 September 2012

If you are fortunate enough to visit this small gem off the coast of Spain, visit the Sierra de Tramuntana, and you will feel as though you’re in a place where time has completely stood still. Cobblestone still lines the streets, and you will seduced by the traditional smells of Mediterranean cuisine as well as the scent of coffee that brews in the vibrant coffeehouses and bakeries. Every building, every shop, every stone gives the appearance of having always been there since the beginning of time. Make your way up steep and narrow winding cliffs which you will have to do by car or bus, and you will reach Bodegas Santa Catarina. Along the way you will encounter the rugged beauty of olive groves and lemon trees and monasteries from the 14th century. Once you arrive, you can ask for a guided tour. It is a small but ancient vineyard, with some of the vines being hundreds of years old, the wine also happens to be delectable. Small touches make the place feel intimate: a small bunch of lavender, wrapped in burlap on a picnic table, for example. Santa Catarina, as you may have guessed, is the Patron Saint of Palma de Mallorca, and small, hand-painted tiles depicting all of her miracles, line all the streets in this small town. A phenomenal experience.

“Must see; Must taste!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2012

Probably one of the nicest spots on the whole of Mallorca; THE hidden gem of the trip. Definitely worth the detour.. the staff are super nice and the wine is quite outstanding.
My favourite was by far the Chardonnay; to be consumed in the Sun!!
