I made an effort to search out the "BEST" breakfast place in Grand Forks so that my husband and I could enjoy our start to our road trip, and from all of the reviews placed on the internet, I got the impression that this was THE place to have breakfast.
Was I disappointed by what I experienced.. First of all, the restaurant was not busy when we ordered, but our breakfast took half an hour to arrive. O.K.. we waited, we understood that good food takes time to prepare... I had taken the special of the day, and my husband had gone for the Trucker's special.
Yes.. my two eggs, three slices of pre-cooked bacon, and 4 slices of toast took 30 minutes.. I guess that it was the cup and a half of grated potatoes that my husband had on his plate that had delayed the meal.
I couldn't believe how small the servings were.. When I realized that I had appreciated the free complimentary breakfast that I had had at my hotel the day before MORE than this experience, I realized just how poor a serving I had received.
If this is the best breakfast place in Grand Forks.. I think that next time, I'll keep driving to Grafton, North Dakota.. It's worth the 50 minutes of extra driving to be able to eat at Granny's Restaurant. My gosh.. now THAT's a good breakfast! Same price.. but so much better service, and presentation. Hmm.. that reminds me.. I'm going to go and create a positive review for Granny's restaurant. They deserve one.
