Lovely, cosy cottage. Incredible welcome pack provided by Fiona. Ideal location near Spey Bay to explore one of Scotland's most underrated coastlines. Would definitely recommend and personally return.

We received a warm welcome from Fiona & Moira who very kindly let us drop off our bikes before the check in time. We went for lunch and came back to Heatherlea to get settled in. A lot of thought has gone into decorating and equipping the cottage for holiday makers. On many of the walls, hang photos of the local area and there has been a lot of consideration put into adding extras to make you feel at home. The welcome pack is amazing, we've been on many self catering holidays and have never seen so much effort put into making your holiday so easy and enjoyable with the goodies included.
The area is beautiful and peaceful. We cycled to Lossiemouth through Kingston and into the forest, it's about 8 miles and a bit confusing at times as you come out onto the beach but glad we managed. Lots of forest area near by for cyclists or walkers. If you don't know the area, a must is to travel to some of the costal villages in the area. We enjoyed Hopeman, Burghead and Findhorn, the coastline is breath-taking.
We visited in summer but I imagine in autumn and winter this cottage would be a lovely, cosy retreat with two wood burning stoves situated in the living room and main bedroom and the huge bath. Happy to recommend this cottage to anyone for a peaceful and enjoyable holiday. I hope we can return.
Heatherlea has everything you could want in a self-catering holiday let, and it is in a beautiful location - Garmouth was the hottest place in Britain while we were there! The dolphin centre is a lovely walk from the cottage and is virtually in a wildlife reserve. The welcome pack is the best I have ever had with lots of lovely local goodies as well as practical supplies. Can't wait to visit again!
Wonderful peaceful cottage in a lovely location, great welcome pack on arrival and great reception from Fiona, we had wonderful warm weather 27deg. for a couple of days. Would highly recommend going to this location to see all the wildlife you could ever wish to see , saw a remarkable colony of seals up close a real priveledge to be there.
My Mum and I ended up here by default. It was an amazing week and I will try and go back again with my husband. The kitchen was well stocked with a welcome pack including wine and ice cream the later I never got to try :-(
The cottage was spotlessly clean and the bath was amazing, towels were all provided so we had a little less heavy luggage. The beds were comfortable and we managed to get a wash load done and dry which saved time coming home.
There was plenty of leaflets and information about the surrounding area for food, drink and places of interest. The garden backed onto a field and the front had the marshes. It was very quite and secluded so a car would definitely be needed.
Locally was a great garden centre and Baxter's factory well worth a visit.
