I don't really know where to start, but here goes. Our room was clean, but the balcony very small and overlooking dense trees that were just about on top of you, you certainly wouldn't sit on the balcony, and in any case one of the two plastic chairs were broken.Inside the Television was circa 1973 and the tube was going so had a nice rainbow pattern across the screen, the brochure ion Balkan Holidays states each room has satellite tv, maybe satellite but not sky just ALL foreign channels. The beds were hard and low down but just about sleepable on. The main problem was in the bathroom, on the second day we noticed the hand basin was leaking from the waste pipe and so reported it along with the minor issue of no plug. The porceline cover at the front of the sink was not secured either and could be moved easily. No action was taken during our stay to fix any of the problems described. On the Wednesday there was a storm which led to water leaking into the bathroom above the sink and in the shower area, on looking at the ceiling I saw that the ceiling comprised of wooden slats which were dislodged, on looking up I could see daylight as the venting panel had not been attached and was just resting on the wood. However what was alarming was that the main electric cables were also resting on the wooden slats, water and electric do not mix! At this point I reported this and we were moved to another room, which was also drab and had mould in the bathroom and had been so extensively cleaned that there was a used plaster on the balcony! This place really needs to be avoided unless you are a group of lads and just want a bed, just check your bathroom! Also the hotel claims to run a shuttle service to the beach every 30 minutes during the day, IT DOES NOT. You get free passage on the local bus which is a 50 metre walk up the hotel drive and another 150 metre walk at the road at the top, nice in 35 degree heat, we never saw one anyway. Also be aware that to get to the beach/promenade there are 176 steps to contend with.Cannot comment on the food as did eat there, though be aware that they do not chill the white wine at the pool bar or the lobby bar, very odd.On the good side the staff were friendly and polite, but that's it.

Room Tip: Book a room in another hotel!

When seeing previous negative reviews on this hotel we were hesitant to book however because of the price being so cheap for an all inclusive holiday we decided to go for it! We were glad we took the risk as we had a very enjoyable time with Balkan holidays. When first arriving at the hotel early morning we were greeted by friendly staff and some lunch in our hotel room. The room was clean, had free air con and a TV. The rooms were cleaned everyday by maids (as long as you were up early enough) they cleaned the bathroom, bed, changed the towels and swept all the floors. They gave you a wide selection on the buffet of soup, chicken, fish, pork, sandwiches, veg and fruit although could get somewhat tedious if you stayed for two weeks. They also had a good selection of drinks however I stuck to plain orange juice as the fizzy drinks were always flat. The dining room sometimes did get crowded forming a que for the buffet however it was a lot bigger than I expected and also gave you the option to eat outside on the balcony which was great! The pool area was clean and there was always free sun beds, the life guards did their job and told anyone off that was causing any hassle. Near the pool there was a hut where you could get drinks, snacks and ice cream. There was also a shortcut from there which led to you straight to the beach without having to walk all the way round which we didn't realise until a few days in! We did have a little problem with the staff as we kept having an issue with the air con-they kept giving us a new remote however in the end after asking five times we got told you have to make sure the balcony door is shut for it to work! Overall a very relaxing holiday, with no hassle from local people and I recommend the chocolate pancakes from on beach to anyone that has a sweet tooth!

When we initially booked to holiday we was a bit worried after reading these reviews but found it to be great mostly. The food is buffet style and a good variety of food was avaliable such as fresh pasta, chicken, rice pork etc almost anything you would want and there was always enough knives and forks. The staff were mostly friendly however one in particular was a bit of a time waster and we found irritating but they were good other than that and understood 90% of what we said. He rooms were comfy and pretty clean not spotless but very clean. They all have free air con, a balcony tv etc usual stuff there. Bathroom was nice expect the toliet didnt flush all the time. Overall i can safely recommend the hotl in the state it is now and is very close the the beach. We went all inclusive and got a very cheap price so for what we paid it was definately worth it, a solid 3 star hotel. Recommended

The only good thing I can say is the rooms we had were nice, smelly but nice with no fridges so if wanted a drink during night had to make do with a warm water. The pool was also good but didn't have a shallow end for the non swimmer like myself, other than that i'm afraid nothing. Meal times were a joke with no cutlery unless the Manager was about which wasn't very often. Food rubbish, not a great selection and same with the snack bar, the bits that were on offer were served on a COLD hot plates!! All 3 of us were ill during our stay. I have never stayed at an all inclusive and come home lighter than on arrival!! There was supposedly adult and childrens entertainment 6 days a week, we saw NO adult entertainment and the childrens entertainment on the one evening we saw was catered for it seemed all nationalities except the british!

My friend and I have just returned from a week's holiday at this hotel and I am trying to write a balanced review of the experience. Balkan arranged the holiday and we had not realised that we would have such a long journey from the airport ( plane arrived 2am local time and we arrived at 6-30am after a long journey in a mini bus. )The return journey was worse. We were picked up at 11-20am for our flight at 18-50pm!!! Airport basic. Be ready for traffic jams on any visits as well! The resort is purpose built so lacks any feeling of heritage but better than some of the "Blackpool on speed" resorts we saw during our travels around.
The hotel was good value for money in regard to room and its facilities. It is clean and spacious. The airconditioning is excellent and free and the safe key is a fair price compared to many hotels. The pool area is lovely and there are sunbeds for everyone. Visitors treated the place with respect and children seemed very well behaved whilst enjoying the space.
Unfortunately the dining experience was not good as there seemed to be a lack of crockery and cutlery at peak times and not enough staff. When these were available many were chipped or cracked or dirty. The rep said that this was being addressed by the hotel. Food was bland and displayed very poorly and so was off putting -even salad? but there was plenty of fresh fruit , local cheese and tomatoes and the bread was also very fresh. In comparison, the freshly made pizza and crisps and ice cream at the snack bar during the day were very good if not the healthiest of choices! The wine was fine but again the glasses needed careful inspection. White wine and ice ran out one day. There is nowhere nearbye to eat well!
There are no pool towels available and very little information from reception though porterage was available but no recognisable organised entertainment. The bar staff in the main reception area were amazing despite working very very long hours. Balkan arranged visits were cheap but not really up to expectation Full day visit 8-45am - 8pm ( 1-1/2 hours shopping in Rumania and 45 minutes for city and museum visit 10 mins beautiful church and gardens- rest of time on coach and included inedible " traditional light lunch" Traditional Bulgarian night salad starter and cremated roast chicken and two soons of hard rice then rubber pie. Showgirls, puppets , polar bear a little traditional dancing and then the fire dancing which was impressive.Visit to Unesco town spoiled by very long journey is 40 degrees. Local taxi can be recommended as value for money and a more interesting local range. All in all wonderful weather;lovely people; strange experience that will not be repeated

Room Tip: Rooms are basic but fine
