The hotel is great! Its only weakness is that it's not very close to Sunny Beach's centre. It's about 15 min walking distance away from a few of the biggest clubs and the popular meeting spot - the Kuban hotel. Everything else is too quality...the staff is polite and always smiling. There was a comment here stating that there is some kind of police figure just trashing your bags in order to take away anything you've purchased outside the hotel...no such thing! Yes, bringing food and drinks from the outside is not permitted but I did it twice and all I got was a couple of bad looks from the parking lot guy. There is a lovely bar just next to the nice swimming pool, they make wonderful cocktails and play great music. We were using a package with breakfast and dinner included. I was as satisfied as possible by the food. The rooms are big and spacious, cleaned up every single day. I will definetely be returning soon to this hotel!

EN: Flamingo hotel is located not too far from the entrance in Sunny Beach (entrance from Varna) at 200 m to the beach (straight line) but to get to the beach you have to cross the main road and go through about 350 m (10 min easy walk)
The hotel is located near the main street in Sunny Beach with high traffic of buses, transportation, carts, cars about 18-20 hours a day and there is pretty much noise and pollution
even through you close the balcony's door

Rooms are big but the hotel has a few important minuses:

On arrival hotel's staff look carefully in the luggage and if it senses drinks, water, coffee, food etc. they recommend not to enter with them in the hotel and to buy them from the lobby's mini market

Rooms are single (double bed is made of 2 singles joined together)
Linens and towels have gray-brown strange colors, even stains

smell in the bathroom siphon (sometimes need to ventilate the room by opening the door of the balcony)

fuse box above the door makes a noise like a 60,000 V transformer when you put the card in the slot (we were told that the same is in all rooms and can not be repaired at all)
solution is to remove the card from the slot while you sleep but if you go to the bathroom at night you have to plug back the card into the slot to have the light in the bathroom

pillows are a nightmare - a homogeneous mixture of balls of wool
in the balcony children can easily slip beneath the window dividing the other balconies, but adults do not
TV CRT tube TV 50-55 few only channels in English and German

breakfast was average quality, diversity average from flat water dispenser, only watermelon and mirabelle fruit / apricot
medium to poor quality dinner with some variety and tasteless dishes (no sauce), salads are just some chopped vegetables

Light on the balcony is included mandatory (can not be turned off till 24:00)

At the pool bar cocktails are served with soft cup full of ice (a few drops of drink) 8 lev - 2 pieces of the same kind

WiFi only chargeable (5 lev / 2 hours), poor quality or 2 old desktops with coins: 1 lev/15 min.

Hotel pluses:

Parking with barrier, covered, guarded closed to back entrance of the hotel (limited to 10 to 15 seats)
Wardrobe quite spacious and clean
Additional pillows seem to be better than those on the beds
They have a gym with a few machines, cycling, weights, trellis and vibration massage with free access
Staff friendly but not very
Near to a supermarket with good prices closed to Marvel hotel
Air temperature at the beach is nice (not exceeding 29 degrees)
The sea water is clean, depth is gradual (buoy is at 1.7 to 1.9 m)

Be careful not to change or remove cash from the beach Exchange sites, they will charge a 10% commission on their own + bank fixed commission
We prefer to buy from the supermarket and pay with credit card and get cash out from ATM
Diesel Price: 2.61 lev

Prices on the beach:
A good lunch for 2 with beer and juice rises on the lev 25-40 (no wine included)
You need to pay attention to the receipts received from restaurants (if you can read them well), I was surprised that after I ordered bring us a receipt (good) Lev 39.5 44.5 after eating a receipt lev - when I asked
where is the difference waiter has not commented and gave us the right
Water = 0.9 to 2 lev (2 l)

Plusuri hotel:

WC = 0,5 lev / pers
Apa = 0,9 - 2 lev (2 l)

The hotel is not in a good position, very long distance walking to sunny beach center, something like 20 min.
We wanted to add one more people to our room and they ask for money(it's o.k) here they write they accept cc and in hotel the request was only cash.

Crew not so nice, cold faces and the speaking ability of them in English is poor...
In short, You can find better hotel for same price.

Sleep quality and beds are bad... same as the shower that always full of water. separation between the rooms is poor, you always hear the rooms next to you.

Rooms are the best part of this hotel, really big, and the beds are great. Ladies are cleaning the rooms every day, and they are changing the towels every day, also.
Boys in the hotel management are friendly and they are open for a normal conversation. And they never checked my bags in the entering.

Beach is just 10 minutes away.

Breakfast is the same, for all 10 days, but they never run out of it.

We would go to this hotel again for sure.

I wasn't pleased with my stay at this hotel. They have a rule that you can't bring any food or drink to your room - unless it's purchased at their bar. They say it's because they are responsible for their guests and try to protect them from food-poisoning. Thanks to that rule one portier - his name was Ivo - kept standing by the elevator and demanded everybody to open their bags and show what they have inside. There was no explanation, no "I'm sorry, could you...", just plain and harsh "show me your bags". I am a woman and I refuse to show to some portier-guy the interiors of my bag. Besides he really acted in a demanding, unpleasant way. When me and my friend refused to show him the bag and wanted to talk to the manager he just kept us in the elevator for 15 minutes, refusing to call the manager and said that we were wasting HIS time... When the manager came he finally decided we can bring the stuff upstairs because it wasn't alcohol and he was much more polite but the overall impression was that of a prison-like situation - it really spoiled my holidays and made me extremely upset. I received no apology from the portier. When I was leaving and stood by the entrance with my luggage he passed me without looking at me, spat on the pavement and spilled the rest of his coffee onto the nearby pot-plant. It was really disgusting! Apart from that the hotel has a good standard and the rooms are cleaned often but the pipes get easily blocked and my bathroom as well as several neighbouring bathrooms had that problem that they got entirely flooded each time someone would take a shower, even a short one...
Oh! The breakfast is wholesome but coffee/tea is horrible and I found one big egg shell in my scrambled eggs. They also allow to smoke in the restaurant terrace where it's easier to find a table - and it's hard to find a free place in general because there are not enough tables for the amount of guests they have.

I was there in august , the hotel is ok, clean good food but i didn't like becouse they have rude guys there that check people's bags to see if they have some food or drink from outside. Sopmething like that have never happened to me before that rude guys called "portars" that can't even say hello to people check bags, even the beach bags and send you to reception to leave your shoppings there.
So it was really annoying and stressing. They hire rude romanian stuff at the reception.
Every hotel require from people to not bring food and drinks from outside but checking their bags it's too much i wont go there again.
Rude stuff can mess up your holyday Sunny Beach is very nice so i advice others to check for another hotel in that town. There are plenty.

Room Tip: Rude stuff can mess up your holyday
