Just back from two fabulous weeks at the Palace Hotel, Please don't listen to the poor reviews of this excellant hotel, firstly all the staff are very friendly, from reception to the waiting staff, bar staff and don't forget the cleaners, the hotel is spotless clean.Remember this is a 3 star hotel in Bulgaria, so if you want fancy then pay fancy, we have no complaints so lets not start nit picking, ok the dining room was busy at breakfast, but what hotel is not busy at this time? always a good selection of food and plenty of it, themed nights at dinner, Bulgarian, Italian, Indian and of course British, so don't be affraid to taste and try. the bedding and towels were changed more often than need be, the shower is a wet room, and the water was always hot, the room was cleaned every day, in fact the cleaners seem to be working all hours, the bar prices are very reasonable for a hotel, about £1 for a pint and £1.20 for a Bulgarian spirit, and is open 24hours, the shop attached to the hotel is also open 24hours and is very reasonable, there is entertainment every night, whereas some hotels have no entertainment. The hotel is right on the prom and you could throw a stone from your balcony onto the beach, as all rooms have a sea view.Writing this has made me wish I was back there now, and will definately be going back to the PALACE .

cracking little hotel very clean and staff were lovely, the rooms are basic but very very clean and have all you need fridge, tv, air con, bathroom small and like a wet room. The dining room is light and airy and breakfast consists of 3 choices of cereal, juice, bacon, ikea hotdogs sausauges tin toms, beans a selection of cheese and hams, yogurts and plenty of bread butter and preserves. If you pay 3star dont expect 5star go with an open mind and enjoy we did.

After reading some mixed reviews I was apprehensive before my holiday May 2010 to Palace Hotel. Hotel is very clean, staff very friendly, food ok (I am pretty fussy and found something to eat every day bar one). Swimming Pool is a bit small for the size of the hotel and you have to be up at the crack o dawn to get your towel out but overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Its not the ritz but then you dont pay ritz prices!

Travelled with Balkan on a late deal, moved to Palace at the last minute because our original hotel wasn't ready, this was the best thing that could have happened. the palace was spotlessly clean as the cleaners seemed to work 24hrs, we were lucky and had an apartment so for 2 of us it seemed massive, lounge, bedroom, 2 bathrooms and 2 tv's, the lounge bathroom was small but plenty big enough for a shower, the other bathroom was much bigger but had no shower curtain so did get very wet, this didn't bother us at all. We only stayed B&B so cannot comment on the evening meal, we had mixed veiws from others about it, i think it depends on how fussy you are with food, the breakfast was adequate, with continental meats and cheese, the cooked breakfast was sausage (not english), bacon (not english), beans (not heinz) tomatoes and eggs, boiled, fried and scrambled. If you fancy a proper English breakfast go out to one of the restaurants where they are really cheap. All the staff were very friendly from the bar staff and waiters down to the cleaners, we didn't really see the reception staff only to ask for internet acces (1 lev = 1/2 hr). if you do have any problems seek out George, he is fabulous. We arrived on 9th May and the season was only just beginning so for the 1st few days there wasn't a lot open, but by the time we left 2 wks later almost everything was. The weather was a bit hit and miss and whilst having fab weather the 1st week with temps getting up to 28c the 2nd week we were cloud dodging. Amigo's bar across the road didn't open until our 2nd week and when it did it was very loud and could hear it in bed whilst trying to get to sleep, so this might be a problem in high season. All in all we loved this hotel and quite a few people we met there including us said we would go back the same time next year. Just a footnote, the pool was freezing, but hopefully this will warm up as the season goes on and not a very big childrens area.

Good
-Good variety for breakfast buffet
-Good view (I was on the 8th floor)

Bad:
-Smells like egg in the bathroom
-Shower has no curtain, or raised platform which made our room flood after every shower
-Staff are rude

-NOTE: you have to pay 5 lev for sunloungers that are shared with the other hotel. Palas Hotel's actual pool is the smaller one near the front where you don't have to pay for sunloungers.

Points about Sunny Beach in general:
-The local people are very rude
-You must pay 6 lev (i think) to use a sunlounger on the beach
-Don't be fooled by the 'you must pay extra for a parasol'
-Everything is very cheap
-Lots of 2 for 1 deals on drinks
