“Good Position , Fantastic LARGE Appartments , shame about the pool Area”
Reviewed 24 September 2010

Nice Looking apartments in very good area - quite away from the main strip of Sunny beach but also less than a 10 min walk away from all the action, (bars, restaurants, beach) less than 10 mins away. Large supermarket over the road which was very reasionable if you need to buy breakfast provisions. or you can get a brilliant breakfast at the sister Sunny Dreams Hotel over the road.

The apartments themselves are HUGE and very impressive. we had 2 balcanies, very large living room, kitchen, dining table and chairs, plenty of storage space in the bedroom and wet room/bathroom, hall. very impressed. Cleaned every day and towels and bed linen changed every other day.Air-con and 2 TV's plenty of plates, glasses cuttlery, toaster, kettle in kitchen.

One view not very exciting but the other one not bad looking over pool.

They build pools very strangely here, and they are usually situated at the front of the hotels and not very private. But this pool was built in a totally stupid place, you only get sun for about 4 hours and day and you have to keep chaning loungers so you are not in shade. good job we are beach people. Great beach , clean but expensive to hire loungers there but as everything else is fairly cheap we did not mind paying this.

Resort as a whole is massive with plenty of walks in the evening, plenty of all different eaterers, fast food for the youngsters, pubs and bars for the 20 year olds and lovely restaurents for families and couples. Would NOT want to go here in high season howevery it would be TOO busy. August / September was brillant for us.

Great holiday for cheapness, good beach. meals were only between £15 TO £25 for two including drinks. two drinks (one non-alcoholic and one alcoholic only £2.50)

Look our for Whacky Paddies -Irish bar on the main strip they have a brilliant live 2 piece band there. some of the singers in the the restaurants are pretty bad however. One or two exceptions.

The apartments are clean and tidy, pool was very cloudy for the first two weeks in August 2010. Thefts from rooms* English family purse with £80, Scottish family camera and my wife had her perfume stolen. The staff are not very friendly. The thing to watch out for is the tour operators First Choice they have you leaving a UK airport at night and arriving at Golden Dreams early morning ( that is one nights accommodation ) we were to check out at 12 noon but our pick up was not until 2.30am and flight 6.00am. All the Brits were in the same situation, people had to pay to keep their room till 6.00pm or 9.00pm but I had a child of 2 years and an English family's son was one year old these children need a sleep between 9pm and 2.30am. we managed to get a small room for the child to get a sleep at a cost of 80Lev not a lot but the Rep and hotel kept us waiting until the last day to let us know we had a room, we had even gone to the hotel Ameris across the road to try for a room fro one night.Would I go to Bulgaria again maybe but not to the Golden Dreams.

just came back from a week in sunny beach and stayed at golden dreams apartment.

we ve been very happy with the apartment, we had a 1 bedroom top floor. the hotel is 5-10 min walk to the beach and only moments from bars/restaurant. it s very convenient and central but at the same time away from the big bustle of the main square.
the apartment was fully equipped with air-con, oven and hobs and a surprisingly large selection of pots/pans which you dont normally find in holiday aparts

overall the facilities were good, the bar was open until 2pm and the swimming pool was nice although we hardly ever used it

would definitely recommend golden dreams and already thinking about coming back next summer

arrived in bulgaria rather tired and annoyed as the baggage handlers here took aged to unload the cases and when ours arived it had been broken into!!!!!!! on arrival at Golden dreams apartments (3am) we was handed a long list of what could be found in the room, the next morning we had to tick the list off to agree to what was or wasnt in the room rather bizarre but at least they didnt demand large amount of money off you for deposits like most do...... we had a very large room with excellent sized rooms plenty of space and 2 bathrooms, the pool area was lovely but could do with more sunbeds and markings around the pool to show the depth of water but other than that it was perfect. It is a 10 minute stroll down to the main market area where there are loads of restuarants selling all sorts of foods and cocktails which was incredibly strong so beware!!!!!! food not that nice but edible i suppose, lots of beggers on the streets and beware of pick pockets also and also the fruit sellers avoid at all costs, bulgaria is still new to the tour indudtry and given time could be a very nice place to go to. if you get the chance go to sunny dreams for a meal its one of the best and Julie the waitress is a real gem.

If asked to go back i would say "not at the minute but in 5 years it would be a definate yes"

I have just returned from a 2 week holiday in Golden Dreams Apartments in Sunny Beach. It was our first trip to Bulgaria so didn't really know what to expect! I am pleased to report that we were all pleasantly surprised! (although the staff in the supermarkets are very rude!)

I travelled with a group of nine ranging from 3 year old to 59 year old - there is something to do for everyone!

Golden Dreams accomodation is fab - we had a very large 2 bedroom apartment which had 3 separate balconies, 3 TV's, 2 air conditioning units (free), 2 toilets and a washing machine (Room A11). Has 2 ring cooker, full oven and grill, fridge, toaster, kettle etc - but no tin opener!

The pool is in the shade from about midday but the sunbeds are in the sun until about 4pm or 6pm if your sitting by the baby pool!

The downside to this hotel is that although there is a restaurant advertised, they dont actually sell ANY food - not even crisps or icecream! There is a 24 hour supermarket just across the road and also a small shop right next door.

There is no music in the bar or around the pool and there is absolutely no entertainment day or night.

They have table tennis, pool table and also table football - but when they run out of tokens for the table football (1 lev) they wont empty it to let you play anymore!

Drinks are reasonably priced at Golden Dreams 2 lev for a large bottle of beer as oppossed to 4.5 lev at the sister hotel Sea Dreams.

You are invited to Sunny Dreams and Sea Dreams (sister hotels across the road) for quiz night, race night, karaoke and also to use their pool / facilities if you want.

The hotel is a 5 / 10 minute walk to the beach where they have every water sport imaginable!

There is a lovely restaurant across the main road called ChouChouria where they have an all you can eat and drink buffet for 15 lev (half price for children) from 6pm - 9pm with a free folk show on Thursdays!

You will definitely notice the price difference comparied with Spain! Loads of fake designer clothes available!

If you intend going to the water park - the action aqua park (5 minutes away by free bus) has discounted rates if you go after 3pm and is open until 7pm in July and August)

I had read report of gypsies, beggers, muggins etc but we did not experience any of these nor did we hear of anyone else experiencing them during our stay.

Fab holiday - would definitely return!

We had asked at sea dream to be moved and first choice or rather the rep was very good and got us moved the next day, with a little grumbling from my Husband who couldn't be bothered packing all the stuff away, but anyhow when they all seen the apartment at golden dreams they were sooooo glad, it had 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms, leather suites, tumble dryers 3 balconies the lot.
It was really nice, air con in all the rooms, it wasnt too noisy at night if you wanted an early night.

The only down side was the pool there wasn't enough room around it for everyone, but that didn't really bother us, and I wouldn't call it a restaurant, more a snack bar which was quite good, an excellent apartment!!
