“Good and bad”

First and foremost the hotel was very reasonably priced and we generally enjoyed our two week stay there, however it was not without a couple of problems. Starting with the positives, we were in the outside "chalet" style rooms, the room was a very good size with a large bathroom, equipped with a TV with English channels, a fridge, a had a lovely outdoor wooden decking area with sofas and a table which was great for sitting out in in the evenings for a drink and a game of cards. The room was kept very nice and clean. Outside the rooms is a lush green area with trees and plants, very scenic, and a lovely pool area, which was also very clean and a real sun trap. The hotel was wonderfully located just a stone's throw from the beach (it's behind the Globus) which includes a lovely long walk through shops and stalls, and is also just 2 minutes from the main strip (the Street of Flowers). It's a very quiet and relaxed hotel.

Now the negatives. When we first arrived we found ourselves in a twin room with two single beds, when we had booked a double. The hotel was unable to accomodate this so we just put up with it. Secondly, about a week into the stay, we spotted a mouse running across the room. Upon moving the beds we found a mouse-hole in the skirting board. When we reported this the hotel staff were very apologetic and gave us a new room immediately, and we moved to another of the outside chalets, however a few days later we saw another mouse in the new room. I don't really blame the hotel for the mice, the chalets overlook that lovely green area where there is bound to be wildlife, and the room doors open right onto it. Some other minor gripes, the window of the bathroom opened up into a storage area where the hotel bins are kept, which meant we had to keep the window closed as the smell was pretty bad. Finally, we were self-catering and ate a few times at the restuarant at the back of the hotel, where the food was uniformly dreadful (though there many much better places to eat just minutes away so don't let this put you off).

All in all, for the money spent it's a decent hotel, and I would go back in a second. Though if I were I would try to get one of the inside rooms for extra security. The hotel grounds are accesible to anyone throughout the night and the chalets only have glass patio doors seperating you from outside. I never saw or heard anything that gave me reason to worry about this but it was at the back of my mind.

Have just come back from a week at the Hotel Venus & have nothing to complain about. The hotel is very clean & our room was kept spotless. Booked B&B as there were so many good & reasonably priced places to eat close by. Breakfast offered a good choice of food & set us up for the day. We had a ground floor room with our balcony overlooking the lovely gardens & the nice pool area. There was a security camera positioned just by our balcony so we felt safe to leave the window open for ventilation during the very warm nights. Bathroom was a wet room & the floor was very slippery when wet so tended to keep my flipflops on for grip. We regularly frequented the adjoining bar / restaurant / karaoke which was run by a lovely lady, Dany, & her son who were always friendly & welcoming. Can recommend The Eagle (just opposite) for wonderful steaks & The Venera BBQ (just round the corner) for tasty traditional Kavarma & BBQ as well as daily firedancer show & live entertainment. Across the road & through The Globus to the beach. Cheap & cheerful...just what we wanted!

here for two weeks from June 24th in a 3rd floor room with a balcony, staff were very nice and friendly and nothing was a problem for them especially the maid who kept our room beautifully clean and the beds and towels were changed several times a week,

Food in the restaurant was not very good but as we were on B & B that was not a problem. Breakfast had something to satisfy everyone. We are booking up again for next year in the same hotel. We have stayed in a few other hotels in sunny beach but this s is one is very good value for money.

Only down side was the lack of air conditioning in our bedroom.

We were at the Venus hotel for 2 weeks from 10th june and from the minute we arrived, the manageress Nina couldn't have been more helpful. My wife is blind,i have osteoperosis as does my mother and my father has hip problems. As soon as we went upstairs to the first level, Nina saw we were having problems and sent someone to help with our luggage back downstairs to other rooms on the annexe. They were great flats with patios you could play football on ! And they were shaded all day as it was very warm. The bar/waiting staff were brilliant and had a good laugh with them all fortnight. Our party will be keeping in touch with Nina and hopewe can have the same rooms again !!!!
The only negative was that the breakfast was a bit cold but nothing to worry about !!!!

Room Tip: We did not fuss about the view.

This hotel may also be called " Venus" Friendly and welcoming staff. Reception staff and maids always had a friendly "hello" and "goodnight". We were accommodated in the chalet-type rooms. Lovely large bathroom, only downside was that the tiled floor could be a bit slippery but a non-slip mat appeared the next day, as if by magic! Plenty storage space and had couch and table in front of the tv. Nice patio area with table and chairs outside where you can sit and enjoy the sun or a game of cards. Clothes horse was also provided which was handy for drying towels. Internet in main building was only 4 lv an hour. TV in room had plenty of channels to watch and the small fridge came in handy. Beds were comfy and linen and towels were changed often. When a problem arose with our room, we were offered upgraded alternative accommodation within the main building. This room was just as nice although had a smaller bathroom, no hairdryer (which the other one had, no big deal really) and had a small balcony. The hotel has nice gardens which are attended to and watered daily. Lovely pool area and plenty sunbeds, mats could be hired at 3 lv. There was a nice restaurant adjacent to the hotel and the lady who worked there was very nice, friendly and welcoming. Food was good there too. Can't comment on the hotel's breakfasts as we were never usually up in time due to late nights! Good security here, lots of discreet cameras. The hotel is very centrally located, just behind the Globus, where we have stayed previously, and was very quiet and peaceful, probably due to the fact that we were the last two guests of the season. Checkout time was 12pm and we were getting picked up at 130pm and when we asked if we could keep our room til 1pm, we were told that it was no problem and were asked if we were having breakfast as they were keeping the kitchen open for us and they were going to make us omelettes or anything else that we wanted to have. We politely refused as we had made other plans but were so touched by this gesture that we bought 3 boxes of chocolates for them, 1 for the front desk and 2 for the maids. They gave us some hotel keyrings and pens and asked us if we would come back again next year to which we replied a definite "Yes, absolutely" and we cannot wait!!!!!!!!
