First and foremost the hotel was very reasonably priced and we generally enjoyed our two week stay there, however it was not without a couple of problems. Starting with the positives, we were in the outside "chalet" style rooms, the room was a very good size with a large bathroom, equipped with a TV with English channels, a fridge, a had a lovely outdoor wooden decking area with sofas and a table which was great for sitting out in in the evenings for a drink and a game of cards. The room was kept very nice and clean. Outside the rooms is a lush green area with trees and plants, very scenic, and a lovely pool area, which was also very clean and a real sun trap. The hotel was wonderfully located just a stone's throw from the beach (it's behind the Globus) which includes a lovely long walk through shops and stalls, and is also just 2 minutes from the main strip (the Street of Flowers). It's a very quiet and relaxed hotel.
Now the negatives. When we first arrived we found ourselves in a twin room with two single beds, when we had booked a double. The hotel was unable to accomodate this so we just put up with it. Secondly, about a week into the stay, we spotted a mouse running across the room. Upon moving the beds we found a mouse-hole in the skirting board. When we reported this the hotel staff were very apologetic and gave us a new room immediately, and we moved to another of the outside chalets, however a few days later we saw another mouse in the new room. I don't really blame the hotel for the mice, the chalets overlook that lovely green area where there is bound to be wildlife, and the room doors open right onto it. Some other minor gripes, the window of the bathroom opened up into a storage area where the hotel bins are kept, which meant we had to keep the window closed as the smell was pretty bad. Finally, we were self-catering and ate a few times at the restuarant at the back of the hotel, where the food was uniformly dreadful (though there many much better places to eat just minutes away so don't let this put you off).
All in all, for the money spent it's a decent hotel, and I would go back in a second. Though if I were I would try to get one of the inside rooms for extra security. The hotel grounds are accesible to anyone throughout the night and the chalets only have glass patio doors seperating you from outside. I never saw or heard anything that gave me reason to worry about this but it was at the back of my mind.
