“Great Hotel”
Reviewed 24 July 2013

We had a fantastic holiday in Bulgaria. The hotel is bang in the middle of the resort, everything you want to do (eat/drink, dance, karaoke, beach, fair, shops) is all within walking distance.
The hotel itself is clean with good facilities. The majority of the staff are helpful and polite. However we found the bar staff, particulary the pool bar to be very abrupt and rude. As an English tourist there is quite a common difficulty with language barriers and english tourists are definitely a minority in sunny beach. The food was average. We felt that there was a lack of choice and a lot of the dishes were overcomplicated with flavours. However that just comes down to personal taste- it was fresh, hot and constantly kept on top of. The pool area was clean and tidy- you had the usual search for a sunbed but it's no different than anywhere else. There were a few nice touches- for example we came back to our room one day and the cleaners had made our bed into art using the towels- they created a scene with swans and lilipads- it was lovely. I would reccommend this hotel and resort to anyone- there really is something for everyone. The only downfall to the holiday was that we did have to move hotels on the last night as the bar next to neptun beach caught fire and burnt down- damaging the hotel itself- I'm unsure how damaged the hotel is but if you're looking for a fun in the sun getaway this is definitely a great place to be.

Room Tip: Definitely request a sea view room...totally worth it!

We arrived in the early hours of the morning and were offered food in the dining room once we had been shown to our room. We had a a lovely big room with a massive balcony with sea views. The bed was very spacious and comfortable. There can be quite a lot of noise in the evening outside on the balcony from the mini fun fair, however, we could never hear any noise from inside our room at night it was always blocked out. Rooms are cleaned everyday and were always immaculate. All the staff work really hard throughout the day keeping the place clean and tidy. The food was enjoyable however could be quite repetitive and we ended up going for the same things day to day. It is very cheap to eat and drink out though if you didn't enjoy the food. Staff are very tentative in clearing away dirty plates and glasses. Some staff spoke good English and some were limited but generally knew what you were asking for. Free wifi in the hotel which is good. The location of this hotel is perfect, we tended to spend most of our time on the beach as it was so close and the pool area can be a struggle to find a free lounger unless you are up early. The hotel exceeded our expectations and is very good value for money and lives up to it's 4* rating. Would recommend this to everybody.

I had never been to Bulgaria before and was unsure what to expect . This choice of hotel was a good one. It is very clean, and staff were friendly and the food was ok. The good thing about Bulgaria is that food and drink is a good price, so even though We went All Inclusive we didnt spend much by eating and drinking out... The hotel is right on the beach and the pool entrance leads to the beach promenade and all bars and shops are easily walked to .. There is a small fair right next to hotel but we never heard any noise so it didnt matter...

if you want a hotel close to the beach and near to the night life then this hotel is a very good pick ..

A great family hotel. Super clean rooms, prime location and a nice garden. However, the pool area is too crowded, and so is the beach in front of the hotel. I will take that into consideration the next time I visit Sunny Beach, because taxi's cost almost nothing + this is not a metropolis! Getting from A to B is quick. Also, we felt like outsiders for not being German. Most signs and posters inside the hotel are in German, so you can easily miss out on useful advice and fun events if you don't have a basic understanding of the language. Most of the staff were excellent and super friendly, but a few of them seemed quite angry and could sometimes stare a lot. Still, a good hotel. It didn't hurt that we somehow ended up with a room in the deluxe part of the hotel, either.

There was one thing I absolutely *HATED* here, though. For our entire stay, the manager's enourmous dog (a St. Bernard, I think) was laying next to the staff entrance in a very short leash. ALL DAY. I don't think it got exercised at all, unless someone took it for a run late at night. It was a daily painful sight, which I told one of the receptionists at check out.

We stayed at the Neptun Beach for 1 week from 7th sept this year. First time in Bulgaria but more about that later. First the positives. This hotel is right on the beach and very central in the resort. We had room 732 which was top floor at the very end. Lovely room with large shower cubicle and smart bathroom, very large room and massive comfortable bed. Always spotless. The balcony was the biggest we've ever had with table, 2 chairs, 2 sunbeds and parasol and still loads of space, with a side sea view. There was a mini bar in the room that was chargeable but you could put your own drinks in. The rooms and corridors are carpeted so very little noise. Pool area nice size though the sun does go behind the building about 4ish depending on time of year. Not many reserved beds which was good. The staff were friendly and helpful and could speak English. There was a TV with one or two English channels but only news and animal planet type. Now the negatives. We were all inclusive and we didn't like the food. There was nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't the type of food we eat and was usually only warm. The desserts were the same everyday. The hotel caters mainly to Germans and Russians so maybe it's their type of food. Breakfast was ok but don't expect English sausages or bacon. Fried eggs and omelets cooked to order. The drink and food in resort was very cheap by British standards so if we went again we would go in an apartment or bed and breakfast only. There did not seem to be any entertainment area at the hotel but that wasn't really a problem as the only entertainment we saw was bingo one night. There is only one inside bar apart from the restaurant, the lobby bar, but this wasn't included in the all inclusive. As it had started to get cooler at night most people who stayed at the hotel in the evening were sat on the terrace by the outside bar with sweaters or jackets on. Now for Sunny Beach. Having never been before we didn't know what to expect. It's not a pretty resort. It's purpose built, very flat for walking round and has a long safe beach with lots of sunbeds. All the shops are tourist shops selling mainly souvenirs, t-shirts or jewellery. There are lots of restaurants and fast food outlets. What surprised me was that the centre of the resort was quite loud with fairground rides, open bars with girls dancing on tables, erotic show bars, casinos, sex shops and karaoke. I would imagine in the height of summer it's like a smaller scale Magaluf, esp. as the drinks are so cheap. Not our sort of place really but fine if that's what you like. Away from the centre was mainly shops and restaurants so a bit quieter but still lively. Nearby Nessubar is a 1 1/4 hour walk and worth a visit. It's quaint with cobbled streets and old buildings but or course full of tourists who come on day trips from resorts. Not a bad week but probably wouldn't go back. Not really our cup of tea.

Room Tip: End rooms on top floor have massive balcony's with sunbeds. At least ours did.

we have just returned from a 2 week stay at the neptun beach, having been to sunny beach 3 times previously this has to be the best hotel weve stayed in, weve always booked 4* and this was the only hotel which lived up to its stars. the hotel is in a prime locaton in easy reach of the shops, bars, bus station etc and is right on the beach, the food was varied, excellent quality and plentiful, The all inclusive bar was always well stocked and offered many different local drinks, the only down point was there is only one bar available to all inclusive guests in the evening which could mean queing for your drink i do think keeping the pool bar open or making the indoor bar all inclusive would make this hotel perfect. Eva and her team work tirelessly to entertain the kids and adults without the usual pushy attitude of animation staff. We will definately be returning to this fab hotel, we are a mixed age group party aged from 47 to 71 and we all found this hotel excellent value with very high standards of hygene.

Room Tip: we stayed in the front of the hotel and this can be noisy.
