Hotels was clean & tidy all the time cleaning ladies always cheerful & helpful. Reception staff & bar staff not so helpful. We had 2 days of rain when we stayed there & there was no indoor bar area to sit when raining you had to sit on the terrace bar for the all inclusive bar as the tiny lobby bar was off limits to A.I.guests you had to pay for your drinks in there. Food was ok but there was not much of a variety for British guests geared mainly for the Germans. Entertainment was virtually none existent in the evenings. Drinks were meagre to say the least & again not much choice. Tea & coffee facilities in the room did not exist. Also the tea & coffee in the hotel were luke warm as water was not boiled but from a heater. We went across to the Morris bar where they served hot tea & decent coffee but we had to pay.

Hotel is in a great location and spotlessly clean as others have said. But that's where the good things end. Food is barely edible, totally geared towards german guests. Drinks are pitiful - tiny little glasses. Unless you are german you seem to get the bigger glasses.
Dined in the a la carte restaurant one night, had to pre order what we wanted the night before. This was fine, except it was very very rushed every course was straight after the next one, we had eaten 4 courses in about 25 minutes and done. No rest in between.
Staff very surly, bordering on rude. Waiters need to learn to crack a smile.
We asked if we could upgrade to a sea view room, met with a disinterested shrug by the girl on reception, and told to come back later. Went back, 'the computer system is down, can you come back tomorrow', went back next day, 'the manager is not here yet so we can't check, can you come back' absolutely ridiculous, forget it!! Didn't they want our money??? So rude and stalling tactics. We had room 414 facing the front of the hotel and could not sit out on the balcony, due to opening the door and being met with 'BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM' music hence why we wanted a quieter room.
Animation were always upbeat, the ones who could speak English made a good effort.
Pool area was lovely, well maintained, a chronic shortage of parasols though.
Disabled facilities were excellent, ramps and wide door ways everywhere.
Rooms were massive, good sized balcony, but TV was full of German channels, for news, even movie channels in German - only bbc news for English guests - why??? No tea & coffee making facilities in the rooms either.
Hated Sunny Beach, what a dump, hotel rubbish, would not go back.

Room Tip: Get a sea view, pay extra if you have to.

First i was very sceptical to go there, because i read the rewiew, and i was having doubts. But when we got there..surprise ..the check-in was quick, we saw the room..and we liked it. the room was cleaned every day. Everything was great! the food, the staff. They had food for everyone..many salads, milk products, meat, fish, soup, a large variety of fruits and sweets...all delicious.
I would recomend this hotel for relax, honey-moon and families with children.

My husband and I stayed here the last week in September and we were very disappointed. We found the hotel full of Germans and Russians and the hotel food was very much aimed at them it was very repetitive all the meat was in a sloppy sauce to disguise what it was.the same salad every night and the pasta they served at lunch was then served in the evening at the snack bar.the snack bar only served sausage and chips at lunch time and the only choice of potato at any time was chips. The fish option on the second night was fish fingers I don't pay 4 star prices to be given fish fingers we even ate out some nights as the food was so bad. If you were German the staff were very nice if you were British and there weren't many of us the staff were ignorant and rude. The cleaning staff were the only ones that were friendly and they kept the room spotless. There was no entertainment at all .We took advantage of the a la cart option and that was awful. We booked with Thomas Cook and it was there first year of using this Hotel I think they need to review it again I would certainly not go back again or recommend it to anyone.

I had a great week here in Sept 2013. everything was starting to close for the end of season but still enough to do the meals were plentiful and good. not much night life in hotel and the barmen could be surly but excellent service overall

Room Tip: look for one with beach view as the noise from pubs outside can be noisy

Dont even know where to start!!!

It's hard for me to write this as there were some very good aspects to the holiday, the hotel itself was very clean and well presented. On the first few days the food was great, but as time went on it went rapidly downhill, we noticed food was being reused, salad was out for at least an hour before evening meals even started and it wasn't on a chiller. They couldn't even serve warm chips!! Out of the 11 nights we were there all 4 of us had severe upset stomachs, for 7 days in total, no doubt down to the very poor basic food hygiene!! Referring again to the salad, undercooked chicken, and shell fish left out near hot food for well over an hour!

Yes it was pretty hard to find a sunbed but we did manage to get 1 most days, the staff at the pool bar were damn right rude, especially Stefan!! often ignoring you or if he did acknowledge you he refused to serve you on a certain side of the bar, even though there were no signs stating this! After a few days we were weary of even drinking over there as we noticed the bar staff openly sprayed bug killer all over the beer tap, spirit bottles and pop dispenser! On our last evening we went into the lobby bar and were moved off a table as it was 'reserved' who reserves a table at 1am? For the 45 mins we were in there no1 sat at the table and we spent it being glared at by the barmaid.

The animation girls were fantastic! Especially Maria who spoke fantastic English and always made special effort to come talk to you and get you involved in daytime activities, the only bad thing was the evening entertainment was mainly for family's with small children and bar taboo was in need of a major makeover!!

The beach was lovely, not too crowded, probably down to it being end of season, I don't know if it was a seasonal or tidal thing but there were a lot of jelly fish, not that I'm complaining it's just nature and that can't be helped, being right on the promenade we were a stones throw from all the shops, water sports and restaurants. Would recommend bistro billy and the pizzeria across the road.

To sum up, I probably wouldn't send my dog here for a holiday, I was really upset as me and my partner had worked our backsides off all year for our first holiday together, I'm far from snobby and would say I'm a normal working class person, but this defiantly wasn't a good holiday. I'm disappointed in Thomas cook, for even featuring this hotel, me and my family have travelled with Thomas cook for years and this was a real let down, I would be surprised if this is in there next summer brochure!

By all means stay at the Neptun beach if you want your holiday to mainly feature diahorrea, rude staff and being pushed out the way at tutted at by Germans! Defiantly not 4* by English standards! :(:(:(
