this hotel is clean and ok if you want luxury dont come here. good location if you want partying the bus or little train is outside, only 5/10 mins away and you are in the centre with all the clubs and bars. there are shops and bars all the way to sunny beach if you want to walk. the beach is only 50 yards away from hotel it's soft sandy beach the sunbeds you have to pay for.
the hotel is basic and clean ideal for a family holiday as the road outside is not busy and beach is safe for the kids. good value i would have no problem staying again.

I stayed there for a week. Ok the holiday was cheap but we paid for all inclusive and the food was totally inedible. However its cheap enough to eat out.

The rooms are very basic, and struggle for English TV, but clean and fresh towels are available every day!

We were served raw chicken for THREE days on the trot, even after pointing it out to the chef! You can pretty much bank on breakfast being nice(ish).

I'd recommend going here bed and breakfast! As for a pint in the hotel is only 80p (1.90 lev) so paying the extra for AI is not worth the money, trust me, you'll end up eating out!

We have just returned from a nice week in Sunny Beach. Don't bother with all inclusive in Bulgaria - it's not worth it. Bed and breakfast is convenient and it's so cheap to eat and drink out, it's far better to have flexibility and not be tied to the hotel 24/7. Everyone seems bothered about the sunbeds, but so what? There's a nice lawn that you can put your towel on - or, you can go to the beach, which is right next to the hotel.

The location can't be faulted. The bus "train" runs from right outside the hotel to the centre of the resort. There are also some excellent restaurants nearby. Directly across the main road (between the Hospital and the football ground), there is a place called "The Step", which serves some of the nicest food I've eaten anywhere. It's new and the waitresses are comically incompetent, but the food more than makes up for it. Next door to The Step is a wood-built restaurant, which does great food at brilliant prices. If you want a Man v food challenge, try one of the hotplate dishes covered in cheese. Last but, by no means least, is the excellent Bulgari restaurant, which is opposite the Imperial hotel. Try the meat skewers, or the pizzas as they have a proper wood burning pizza oven.

Rooms are small and most have no air/con, but if I can manage, then few can have any reason to moan. On the plus side, the rooms are cleaned well every day. Staff at the hotel are quiet, but polite - and if you make the effort to chat to them, they're fine.

When you work out that you are probably only paying well under £10 a night for B&B, it changes your expectations a bit......

Room Tip: Learn to book it in German - you may get A/C !!

My wife and I went on a week’s holiday to Sunny Beach in Bulgaria, and we stayed at the 3 star Zefir hotel. As we arrived a little early we had to wait for our room, which was fine, the hotel receptionist was polite and informative. We only had room and breakfast, and the breakfast was the same each day, but catered for all types of people mainly Germans but it was totally acceptable.

The hotel was mainly full of Russians and Germans, and as other people have commented, the towels were placed on the sun loungers around the pool very early (see picture), so I think it’s a case of if you can’t beat them then join them.

The room itself was fine, it was clean, the shower worked well and the maids came in everyday to clean up and were very friendly. The TV was the old type CRT and not a flat screen, but it worked well and even had a English speaking channel HBO. The room was comfortable and we didn’t hear any noise from the other rooms, (with the exception of an argument in the corridor at 3am one night).

The hotel is situated about a mile and half from the centre of Sunny Beach, but there is transportation (mini train) just outside the hotel for a just over a quid each and runs every 10 minutes. So no real problems there. The beach is 5 mins walk down to the Black Sea, and you have to pay for the sun loungers on the beach.

Nessebar is also only 10 mins on the local (mini train) transportation at the main road 2 minutes walk, which is worth a visit. We also caught the local bus to Bougas, which was good, and we did a trip the Sozopol (the River) and a Jeep Safari.

So to round-up the Zefir Hotel is really quite good, and I would recommend it for cheap accommodation in Sunny Beach. If you’re a Brit, forget trying to converse with other guests, because they are mainly Russians and Germans, but they seemed quite friendly .

Sunny Beach is a bit like Blackpool with sun, full of cheesy shops, bars, sex shops, strip joints, tacky restaurants, fun fairs, 3d cinemas, sweetcorn sales stalls, big hotels and Germans, but Blackpool is only about a mile, Sunny Beach delivers this for at least 3 miles, great for stag do's and hen parties.

Oh one final note avoid the "Go Pet" electic scooters, they look well dangereous, the fish spa is good though.

Room Tip: Ground Floor seemed best as they all seemed to have Air Con
