It's a pitty since it is really a good hotel but the service (is it rather embedded in the Bulgarian culture?) is poor and very enoying. You have to ask for everything, item by item, to furnish your room. The aircondition of the hotel is very poor as well and when it is hot, you suffer everywhere, including in the dining room where you expect to have a comfortable rest. The poor is not tasty, sometimes disgusting but in quantities and variety.
I read the reviews before traveling and found that statistically it seems poor. I considered myself someone he enjoys everything but found out it was an average hotel. Again, the facilities are really great and it is a pitty the hotel gets low ranking for things that can be improved (except the aircondition system which might be expensive).

Room Tip: Do not take A821, because you won't be able to open windows (a front made of glasses). Taking s...

worst, but in average I put 3* for this hotel.
So, as many others I have read other reviews and I was thinking that definitely it can not be so bad as it was written. The another thing - our travel agent, from agency with whom we are traveling for more then 5 years, was staying in this hotel with 2yo daughter, and she warmly recommend it to us.
Of course, she mentioned that her staying was in 2009 and I do believe that in that time it was better than now.
I was staying in V.P. from July 27 - Aug 3 with my Mom and 3yo daughter with All Incl.
The bad thing or biggest problem for us (as my little is allergic on eggs) was eating at V.P.
First of all - they have no baby-corner or something like this, at all.
Yes, they have standard breakfast with fried and scrambled eggs, pancakes, very fatty fried beacon, and some kind of fried sausages. Only two types of cereals and veRRRy cold milk (really, I've tried first day and get tooth pain). No yogurt for children at all, and we cannot even get cacao in Nescafe machine.
The lunch was very standard every day: one type of chicken, pork, beef meet (sometimes very salty, sometimes very spicy), rise, chips, and - what surprise me a lot - spaghetti swimming in oily water.
Good side - plenty of fresh vegetables both cut and in salads, very tasty local fresh salty cheese of several types. And some days there were very delicious soups - chicken, pork, and one time vegetarian.
Many types of soft drinks; Pepsi-cola, fanta, mirinda, tonic etc, BUT - no juices even from pack.
The dinner was pretty the same almost every day, only some meat dishes chnaged. And do not expect to have thematic dinner as in many other 5* hotels - there is no such option at V.P.
The really best thing at this hotel is its location - just hundred meters to sea, and it was really warm and clean. We were not using pool at hotel, as I've read that places at pool are booked already at 6 in the morning, so we were going to swim in the sea, where water seems to be even warmer.
We have room at 6 floor, with sea view, got it without any problems and additional requests, but during check-in there were several couples who were coming back with request to change their rooms, as they have booked sea-view, but didn't received it.
Room was really spacious, towels changed every day, and sheets were changed twice as well. I cannot say that room cleaning was very good, as we have found on third day of stay two hair barrettes under each of table in the room, that means no vacuum cleaning was done there.
Animation team is lovely, they are so full of energy every day, and mini-disco ROCK :)

I stayed for a week and the animation team were brilliant. They constantly provided entertainment for people of all ages and were so friendly and caring, great if you have young children. Most of the bar staff were friendly too :)

before writing this review i have just read others that was staying here at the same time has us and sorry but i really dont agree with your comments

myself, partner and 12 year old daughter stayed here from the 20th july till 30th july and again when we arrived in the early hours of the 20th we thought we was in for a treat how wrong was we

we was up on the 7th floor and found the room ok when we first arrived,we checked in fair quickly left our passports and suitcases then headed upto our room and waited around for the porter to bring our cases

after a little sleep we got up for breakfast which was good, pancakes, fried eggs etc
then we headed for the pool and couldnt get a lounger we had to end up putting our towels near the wall, the hotel offers 4 bars but only one all inclusive outside is open during the day and unless you are Russian, German french dont expect to get served quickly the staff are so rude its horribly and you shouldnt have to wait twenty minutes for a drink just because you are British

The pool was in really bad state with loads of tiles coming off,one little boy cut his foot open and his mum had to pay 144euro to get it sorted outrage this shouldnt happen

i felt like the staff at the hotel didnt care about the guests because at the end of the day the guests have already paid with booking for all inclusive

i aint one of these people that like to just stay in my hotel all holiday but i dont see why we should have to go out to eat/drink and find entertainment when we have paid for all this in the price

the marvel just across the road had entertainment on so why couldnt VP

the only decent staff where the animation team and the 2 guys that worked in the iris bar

our room didnt get cleaned fully every day and some days we didnt even get clean towels,we had a couple of days where we didnt have hot water for a shower

BETH the so called REP wasnt any use what so ever she was never in the hotel at the times she was meant to be,we came back from the waterpark on friday teatime and she was meant to be there and guess what she wasnt,i got to see her on the morning we was due to fly home and i told her what i thought of her and the state of the hotel

i wasnt the only person that had problems with the hotel we met some lovely people from wales, scotland and all of them had big concerns about the hotel

so at the end of the day if you want to stay in a hotel with tiles missing from the pool, rude staff, dirty plates in restaurant the metal strips on the stairs coming away then go ahead and book it but if like me you dont want this from your hotel/holiday then book somewhere else

we had to be out of our room by 12.00 midday and couldnt get a late check out so we got the curtisy room five minutes late with no clean towels,no toilet roll, broken shower with cold water and broken hairdryer and had to be out 25 minutes later

Just back from a great holiday. First visit to Bulgaria, and I would recommend it. The weather has been amazing, very hot but with a lovely breeze. Went with two young children, 8 and 11. Hotel is stunning, and the rooms are as per the brochures, and cleaned daily by the friendly maids. The pool area is massive, divided into 3 infinity pools and two lower pools. Annoyingly, quite a few of the mosaic tiles in the pools are loose or missing which could so easily be rectified. We could not use the indoor pool as it had achemical problem, but were shown round the spa and had a treatment. Both myself and my children were impressed by the food, and could always find something to appeal. The animation team, Simona, Vladymyr and Innka were so friendly and brilliant with the children, thank you!! The staff at the pool bar repeatedly ignored the children asking for soft drinks, and were quite miserable, quite unlike Terry and Radoslav, bar staff in the irish bar, who were again, great with the kids and extreemely friendly, thank you!! Beth the Thomas cook rep was around to help and offered good advice. We enjoyed the jeep safari and aqua park trips booked via her, they offered great days out with good value for money. Bulgaria is beautiful, and this hotel is in an ideal location and provides beautiful accomodation from which to enjoy it.

Room Tip: a sea view would have been amazing

Just returned from v.p on an all inclusive package.
The Hotel looks fabulous definately the best looking one in the sunny beach area.
Check in was quick , pool and beach view with balcony.
Room very big, clean ( and i checked matteress ) loved the style of furniture in rooms and all around hotel.
Perfect area bars- stalls and lots of restuarants along the strip. Weather was lovely and hot.
Enjoyed ourselves and had fab holiday :)

NOW NEGATIVE POINTS THAT V.P COULD IMPROVE ON .....
There were four bars but the boat bar was a paying bar, so despite paying all inclusive you could not use this bar for free .
The staff at the pool bar ( in my opinion ) were some times rude and came across fairly abrubt.
Part of the beach was roped off for v.p guests but you still had to pay 15lev for two beds and umbrella :(
Food was ok, only ate in restuarant four times . have tasted better in other resorts and bulgarians seem to have there meat / chicken too under cooked for me .
Didnt find the people too over friendly but quite a few came across sturn and abrupt.

At the end of the day you make the most of your holiday and dont let the niggly points ruin it for you .
Had a fab time :)
