“Very nice hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 July 2011

Nice rooms, but just a few actually has a sea view. Nice swimmingpool and bar, 100 meters off the beach.

This was a nice hotel close to the beach, but the hotel pool was small.

Easy to sleep without any disturbing noise during night time. At least if the room is on the pool side of the hotel building. The hotel did not look like a hotel for small children even if a couple of familes stayed at the hotel.

I can't say so much about the hotel restaurang, because I only had breakfast there.

Expensive sun chairs on the beach compared to the existing price level in bulgaria. Chair = 7 Leva and parasol = 7 leva, approx 7 euro.

Take care when you change money, because some currency converting offices try to misslead tourists by hiding the currency rate or mix the sell and buy rate for the bulgarian currency.
The currency converter called Crown was the best one during my vacation but it may change during the time.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2008

Hotel Jeravi is pretty much center of the arc of the beach. 75 rooms, nice pool. Separate restaurant, lobby bar, pool bar, penthouse bar and small shop plus in-house massage room.

Hotel staff are great. Generally smiling, always crisp outfits, each tries to be of service without asking for someone else's assistance. They have the answers to nearly all our questions - the only one failed was regarding Khan's Tent. Had we called it Hanska Shatra, it is possible that would have made the difference.

Check-in was smooth. We asked for internet access (we were working while on vacation) and were given both a cable for in-room access and the login/password for wireless access while in the lobby area. We asked for an in-room safe and for 35 leva for the week had use of that. A porter came up to our room to show us how to work it.

Our room is one floor up, elevators small but clean. Hallway lights brighten as we walk - motion detectors. Inside the room we set up the air conditioner level suitable for us, take stock of the bathroom amenities (shampoo, cap, q-tips, soaps, four drinking glasses) and begin unpacking. Porter arrives for the instructions on the safe and when he is finished he didn't even hesitate - I was going for a tip, but he was gone.
Three cabinets, one with shelving. Plenty of hangars, but no clamps for skirts.
Extra pillows, a duvet and cover available.
Three hooks over a sitting space with open area beneath for shoes.

Two beds which we pushed together immediately and a futon near the coffee table.

Two nightstands, plenty of understorage.

Desk is large, television in the center. Television is listed as flatscreen. That is correct, it is not a flat panel TV, but a large box with a flat screen in the front. Only one chair for the desk, though there is plenty of room on the other side of the television for a second working space.

Balcony with two chairs and a table. This is the only furniture that looks a little tired. Obviously weathered. The remainder of the room and the full carpeting look nearly new.

Breakfast buffet each morning, plenty of variety and kept stocked.
Eggs boiled, scrambled or poached.
Two meats cooked.
Beans one morning, mini pancakes one morning, toasted omelettes one morning.
A dozen breads each day.
Half a dozen fruit choices each day.
Butter, jam, honey, soft cheese.
Sliced cheese and meats each day.
Cereals and milk.
Coffee, tea, soft drinks - orange drink rather than juice, strawberry drink.
Tables kept cleared and brushed of crumbs, outdoor seating near the pool for smokers. Music outside generally more sedate than inside. I prefer outside as I really prefer coffee before rap, but husband's complaint is more the volume level.

We did not make use of the restaurant aside from one late dessert - apple cake with coffee and the Hotel Jeravi Surprise which was a lovely piece of cake, icecream, nuts, honey and it was built like a small pyramid with a surprise for each bite. Lovely.

Pool cleaned each morning, chairs wiped down.

Lobby bar and seating area kept spotless, attentive staff.
Penthouse bar has darts and billiard table. Attentive staff again.
Small shop has tissues and drinks and snacks. Not much choice, but the clerk there is, like the rest of the staff, smiling.

No teakettle or coffee maker in-room, though there is a fridge.
Internet access is spotty and terribly slow if not completely stopped between around 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
We can work around those hours, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time so we could plan for it.

Our price included airfare, transfer and hotel from Sweden, total of 6000 SEK for two people.

The hotel itself is listed at 4 stars. We feel that the lack of solid internet and no in-room water cooker or coffee maker brings it down a small notch, but otherwise we are quite pleased and have no problems recommending Hotel Jeravi.

  • Liked — Cleanliness and attentive happy staff.
  • Disliked — Internet access spotty, no in-room coffeemaker or teakettle.
