Hotel Aurelia is situated outside the main Sunny Beach area. This suited our family because we could have quite days when we required or go into Sunny Beach centre when we wanted a bit more to do.We could walk from the hotel to the buisy part of Sunny Beach in half an hour. However there were regular buses and the taxi fare was about £6.
The Hotel is situated about a 10 minute walk from the beach, crossing a fairly buisy road but it had good traffic lights with a visual timer on when the lights are going to change.
The Hotel is family run, all the staff are great and will do anything to make sure you have a good stay. All the staff work as a team and this can be seen on how they treat you. It is very clean and comfortable. Theres a fridge in the room and air conditioning (free). The food is good. We were B+B and the breakfast was sufficient with a few choices ie continental types or English.Pool was good but you have to pick your position if you want the sun all day there are a few appts around it which puts the pool in certain shades at certain times of the day, but this didnt bother us. For the price we paid it was excellent. This is the second time here for my family and me.

My partner and myself stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks the end of August into September. As long as the place is clean I am happy. We arrived about 5am and was met at reception and taken to our room which was spotless. The hotel in between Sunny Beach and Nessabar, easy to access both either walking, bus or train, which are very frequent and inexpensive. The hotel is run very effeciently from reception to waiting/cleaning staff, the staff are all very friendly. Breakfast is a choice, enough for us, but if anyone is expecting a buffet (as much as they can eat, they are in the wrong hotel), what we had was ample and nice. We stayed round the pool sometimes and had a drink (also inexpensive) and had a few meals there (again inexpensive). There are some lovely places to eat and all inexpensive. The staff were all brilliant and friendly. There is nothing I could say wrong about this hotel. We may not go next year but will definitely be back in a couple of years time

Our 3rd time to Bulgaria - we love it. Genuine Bulgarian people are lovely as are the staff at the Aurelia. We chose this Hotel as it is small and away from the Blackpool area of Sunny Beach which is okay for the younger ones. The Hotel is so clean and tidy and all the staff do their very best to accommodate any requests. Do give them a tip or two, most are Students or local people and could do with a few more stinkies in their pockets.

Explore Nessebar it is very interesting. Also we went on the Valley of the Roses trip (see it advertised when you walk to Nessebar) a very early start but well worth the effort albeit the roses had finished! However, the guide Ivan was very good (an unusual trip being a bus load of Russians and only 4 English speaking guests us and two from Cork) and we had him to ourselves all day. The tour goes way into the mountains to the north of Bulgaria so it gives you a chance to discover the country and see the agriculture and the true Bulgarians. Lunch at the Rose place was very nice and included in the price. Works out to around £35.00 each but you stop along the way quite a few times at very nice historic places. Left at 6.00 am and back at 11.30 pm.
The public bus to Bourgas is fine - go and have a look at the City then walk back along the sea front from the Port to the Sea Gardens. It's a lovely walk in the shade if you like. You can catch the bus back by walking up onto the main road.

Yes go for it. If you are young and like the bars and clubs book in the centre of Sunny Beach but if you like a reasonable amount of quietness book the Aurelia. You will enjoy it. Oh, yes the Owner/Manager is a bit of a one so is what we thought was his Mrs.. Just ignore them and look after the staff. They like to try and speak English so encourage them.

We stayed at the Aurelia mid September and had a great if not fabulous stay! Our room was very clean, tidy and spacious, and could accomodate more than our 3 selves easily.
Rooms cleaned daily with beds made up and sheets changed , towels changed every 2 days.
Loved the balcony and the air-conditioning was bliss! (no extra charge for that)
Great choice at breakfast, hot and cold varieties. Also you could eat indoors in their restaurant or outside by the pool.
The pool is a great size and private, with a great little childrens area which is the right depth for little ones.
Staff were very accomodating and not grumpy at all! From the reception staff to the restaurant staff we have nothing but nice things to say about them all! Made our stay there a welcome one!
We found it cheaper and tastier to eat in the restaurant than to eat out in Sunny Beach main centre! Our son loved the Ham and Eggs that they serve, huge (filling up the entire plate!!) and tastey and cheap!
In a nice quieter area away from all the hustle bustle and noise! although still close enough to the Sunny Beach main area, it takes about 10-15 to walk (leisurely) and if you dont want to walk the bus is just around the corner, charging 1 lev per person - no charge for kids.
Overall I would go back today if i could!! We all loved it and it made our holiday a fab one!

Went to the Aurelia Hotel on 16th July as a last minute deal. It was really good value due to it being a last minute deal. Not sure about the prices when booking in advance.
Aurelia is a lovely little hotel, based about a 10 minute slow walk from Cacao beach which is a gorgeous beach with some really nice bars. You can easily spend the whole day at the beach. It was 38 degrees when we went and there was a lovely breeze on the beach and the sea was 28 degrees! I would suggest paying for sunbeds on the beach, especially if you're staying for the day, as you can get out of the sun if you want. It costs 18lev for 2 sunbeds under a parasol. When there, you can get drinks from the bars which aren't that cheap but are ok prices, and there are also places to get food. People will come round selling things such as fresh fruit, corn on the cob, chocolate bread and things like necklaces and bracelets.
The hotel is slightly too far from the centre of the sunny beach resort and so you are not able to walk there. You can get a bus for 0.7lev per person to the centre from opposite the hotel Favorit on the main road which is really cheap. However, the bus is absolutely jam packed with no air conditioning! Next to the bus stop is a taxi rank, but the prices are fairly steep for such a short journey to the centre. We managed to get it down to about 12lev, but you really do have to haggle and be firm with them. Don't get in a taxi without agreeing a price first!
The hotel itself is extremely clean. We stayed in a double/twin room which has a bathroom with a walk in shower, satellite tv (not many british channels), a balcony with chairs and a table, a small sofa and air conditioning!!! For the electric to work in your room, you have to leave the card in the slot. I'd suggest leaving the card in there when you go out of the room and to leave the curtains closed as it can get extremely hot.
The pool is fairly small, but large enough to swim lengths and fairly deep. There is a child's bit attached which is fairy shallow with steps into it. Around the pool there are a few sun loungers and lots of tables under parasols which all have waitress service.
The food at the hotel is fairly limited, but what they do serve is very nice. There are plenty of restaurants in the centre with a range of different foods.
To sum up, this is a lovely hotel especially if you are looking to stay in a quiet area of Sunny beach. However, if you wish to be near the bars and restaurants then I'd suggest staying in a hotel closer to the centre.

It is a lovely little hotel at the far end of the Sunny Beach resort. Really friendly staff and a nice little resturant and bar which opened late and served good value food and drinks.

Our was lovely - clean, spacious, tv and fridge, balcony overlooking the pool and a good size bathroom.

Just over the road is what I would say is the nicest beach, Cacao Beach. Really good beach bars and is definatly the cooler end of town. If you are into house/techno music then they have summer sessions on Saturday nights (Sasha played the weekend after we left). Was very happy to be staying out of the center of Sunny Beach as it seemed really commercial and we were looking for a quieter stay.

Best way to get around is by the bus (bus stop is just down the road next to the very convienient supermarket!) and is 0.70 lev one way, which is a bargain. Will take you to either Nessebar or into Sunny Beach. There are also buses to Bourgas from there too (main town).

Beautiful beaches, clean and clear water and blue skys. Make sure you keep your small change though as going to the loo will cost you 0.50 lev a go!! But that usually means they are clean and easy to find.

Go to Nessebar - its beautiful and a real little treasure as its a World Heritage Site. Lots of fake glasses and clothes and lots of resturants and can get busy but great for people watching in the bars.

This hotel was lovely. Clean, tidy and comfortable. The staff were fantastic and extremely friendly and helpful. The pool also had a childrens pool area and it was cleaned every day and so very hygenic and safe (even if it was quite a cold pool!!).

We only had our towels changed twice during our stay, but we found out from other guests that this was our fault because if you wantto have clean towels, then leave the old ones on the floor. We kept hanging ours up again.

The hotel manager (tall blonde man) was always hanging around, but he never smiled. On the last day one of the larger guests broke one of the cheap plastic pool chairs by accident as he sat down and the manager sent one of the waitresses over to tell him that he had to pay for it. we all said that the manager should come over to us instead of sending someone else to do his dirty work, but he just kept staring over rudely. The guest did not pay for the chair as he quite rightly refused. The hotel should cater for all sizes and shold claim forthe chait on their hotel insurance.

Also, when one of the other guests sent back their ice cream as they didnt want chocolate ice-cream, they wanted vanilla, The hotel were going to take it out of the waitresses wages!! The guest went to reception and complained and they then said that they would agree not to take it out after all.

On the whole, the hotel is lovely and the staff great. I would stay there again as it was a lovely experience.

The hotel is situated only a short walk from the beach and supermarket. If you walk to the supermarket (called Faverit) you can get the bus outside to Nessebar and Old Nessebar. It only takes about 4-5mins and works out about 25p for a single ticket. the buses run from early in the morning until midnight and run every 10 mins. If you cross the road (opposite Favorit) then you can get a bus to Sunny Beach town centre, which is exactly 4 stops away (4-5mins) and all the other details are the same as the Nessebare Bus.

Sunny beach is extremely lively on the evening with bars, clubs, restaurants, shops, markets, bungee jumping, mini golf, artists painting your favouite photos onto cavas (and doing a fantastic job of it as they are very talented!) hair stusios etc. These are all open til very late.

Old Nessebar if if you prefer it to be a little quieter as it has little taverners, restauants all set around a pretty harbour. it has little shops and markets set in cobbled streets and beautiful ruins.

Taxis are expensive compared to public transport. You have to agree a price before you set off and don't be afraid to haggle with them.
