location is perfect, the Hotel in general have a nice outside design, private beach and pool.but the rooms need renovation, although they are nicely designed but too old that you cannot tell if they are unclean or worn out. lighting was bad. Our shower was broken and it took them two days to fix it claiming that the person in charge of maintenance is on leave, and no one could take his place something that is unprofessional and does not suit a 4 stars hotel! the safe box kept sticking all the time that you need to call the reception every time to open it.
The sea was unclean, full of green sea weeds, we reserved especially because it has private beach but we actually did not enter the water. We tried the pool instead but the water was freezing.
in the dining room, they just take the empty plates and do not clean the tables before other customers sit, also when breakfast time is about to end they start taking away the food even if people are still eating.

We spent 3 nights in this hôtel in august.

First impression : wouahou effect due to the excellent location in Sunny beach and nice decoration (in the middle of the city but very upscale and calm, pool with large & confortable sunbed, private beach, nice bar & restaurant).

BUT as non bulgarian nor russian or celebrity guests (only french travelers :) we got the feeling that the staff was very rude with us, even if we spent over 600€ (hotel + diner) at Dune.

It's true that we did not arrive with a BMW or a Porsche but it's the first Time that on such a hotel that calls itself Luxury we don't receive even a "thank u" or "i hope you enjoyed your stay" ... They barely looked at us when we paid and sent someone in the room to Check if we said the truth when we said we did not use the mini bar. Crazy!

This would be incredible in a normal 4 or 5* hotel.

Other ex : the 1st night we went at the restaurant they said it was full and set a very small table at the end of the terrace for us whereas there was an empty table with the view... as if we were not enough important...

Other points :
- ask for sea view but avoid being just over the stairs : noisy at night when peiple come back from parties and in the morning with restaurant noise
- do not expect a word nor a smile from the beach guy or the reception
- food restaurant is very good and not that expensive but :) do not arrive late at the restaurant for brekfast. They start removing the dishes at 10:20 even if it is opened later...

As a conclusion : great place for Sunny Beach but very expansive as regards to european Luxury standard of such a type of hotel. Anyway if you don't mind being not considered at all in a hotel but Want to relax and unwind, that's for you !!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Dune for 4 nights in about 10 days ago. We enjoyed every minute of our stay there despite a few points they could stand to improve upon.

The valet service and the check-in went quite smoothly. Our room was spacious, but definitely in need of a remodel. The furniture in the room was a bit old, and our mattress was clearly not in great shape. I asked about getting switched to a room with a more firm mattress, but the reception said the hotel was fully booked. We were also a bit disappointed that the Sky bar is no longer open, and there was no fitness room. I think it's pretty standard for nice hotels to have at least a small room with a few machines for guests who wish to workout.

Aside from these issues, we had a lovely stay. The food in the restaurant was delicious. The cocktails and drinks were great and very reasonably priced given the level of this hotel and its surroundings. Despite the fact that we went during peak season, we never had any issue getting lounge chairs on the beach or poolside. If you prefer a more exclusive hotel away from the crowds in Sunny Beach, I recommend you stay at Dune. We definitely will be back, and hopefully they will give their rooms an update before then!

This hotel is one of the best hotels that I have been too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ideally located on a beautiful private beach. Delicious food and an amazing sea view. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for luxury and comfort.

Room Tip: Room with a Sea View

We stayed there for a long weekend and the hotel is fantastic. Its the only one directly on the PRIVATE beach. You can go and find sunbeds even at 11am...Nobody is allowed to even sit on the beach if you are not hotel guest. The hotel itself is small establishment(around 70 rooms if I remember correctly) but everything is perfect. The restaurant is all white and turquoise colours and its very relaxed. The food is of highest quality and very original. There are bulgarian celebrities and very rich bulgarians walking around :)) as you can see by their clothes, cars, etc. The service is very good, nothing is a problem for the staff and they are always smiling and doing some work around the hotel. Its like an Oasis in very, very busy Sunny Beach. When you are sitting in the restaurant, there is no noise everything is relaxing. Maybe the rooms need a bit of nip-tuck but for me this was not a big issue :)
Overall if you going to Sunny Beach, this is the place. Very private, very expensive and very Good.

Room Tip: Definitely pay for sea-view!!

Well, this is acttualy my 3rd review about this hotel. Last time i was in 2011. In june 2013 i have found the same best things i like about this hotel . They have reburnish the lobby and the outside terrace . This is quite glam hotel but still keeps his seaside character. I dont bother to say again that the location is perfect , just on the beach . In 30 meters from the reception your are already on the beach . The beach is nice arranged , with enough space between sunbeds . On other public or hotel beaches you will see that are a little crowded. Service is great and everyone is smiling . Restaurant is exactly what you need on the seaside . A mixture of italian and mediterranen dishes with very high quality of food . Lava cake , home made icecream and dune cake ( hotel recipe ) were fabulous . We also had a late check out free of charge . This is a very good hotel or those who like it a little posh and glam without missing the sea . Many families with children . Hotel is not very big and this makes it very coisy .

Room Tip: Always choose sea side rooms . The view is fantastic

me & my husband stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our holiday for a treat. when arriving at the hotel to check in at 2pm there was lots of expensive audi cars in forecourt, we was greeted from the bell boys and felt like King & Queen lol. We entered our Seaview room and wow it was lovely, the view from balcony was breathtaking. We unpacked and got ready to go downstairs to explore. Everywhere was spotless and very elegant. Waitresses were dressed all in white floaty dresses which looked lovely and they were very polite and helpful and always smiling. We went round the pool area for a few hours to sunbathe and that was nice. We never ate in the hotel except breakfast as we was staying bed & breakfast and we used to go out on the main strip to eat as we did both feel abit out of place in this hotel. It seemed to us the reception was looking up & down at us which made us feel uncomfortable. Yes I know it was a luxury hotel and well presented but we still paid good money to stay there. This hotel would suit honeymooners or a stay for a special occasion. Im so pleased we wasn't there for the 5 nights before, we had stayed in one not far away and it was more welcoming. The 2 nights was a lovely luxury for us just for the room and the view.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms a must
