Hi, just back from our holidays in Bulgaria. It was a very enjoyable holiday. But I have to warn anybody planning to stay at the Lira Hotel think twice before you book on what you want from your hotel. It is about 10-15min walk to beach, lonely road at night for walking home with bad road lighting, pool very small, my husband is not a good swimmer but being a tall man could do a length in about four strokes!!!!!!!! The staff are OK...but one girl cann't remember her name was always trying to rip us off. one night on return from a show at 12pm, one member of our group was peckish..asked for something to eat..nothing doing..offered €20 for a plate of chips which da..da arrived promplty... straight from the fridge..burnt leftovers from the morning!!! (she wasn't that peckish..but alas money was paid!!) All we could do was laugh at that stage...same girl wasnt very happy in the morning if you looked for your breakfast (which you by the way have already paid for!!) Asked for the coffee one morning to be told its there in front of you...in the electric kettle... which had no flex in it to even heat it up!!! And be careful of your change if having a drink at the bar...sometimes you get none!!
Just saying if you can get a hotel directly on the beach you will be better off...and you save on taxi money, which cost us €7.50 a go each time and that;s the least you pay sometimes if you don't sort price before you get in taxi it can be alot more. Enjoy.
