“Absolutely Fantastic!”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

Helena Sands is simply the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Excellent location, superb in every way.
The whole hotel from the rooms to the gardens and pool were immaculate, cleaners worked from breakfast time to late evening to keep it spotlessly clean. The restaurant was excellent, every taste catered for & waiting staff were very efficient. We can't wait to go back (and it's soo cheap!)

Was a very very nice hotel We were on bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast was superb with every food you could want. Waiting staff were a little stiff but the cleaning staff were smiley,
Only draw back for us when we arrived at 1am due to flight delay, they would not provide any refreshement as the kitchen was closed, we only wanted coffee. The mini bar was EXPENSIVE

Room Tip: The pool is freezing even on very hot days but worth a dip

My husband and I have just come back from 2 weeks AI at the Helena Sands Hotel in Sunny Beach. We could not fault the hotel it was spotless all the staff was so friendly and helpful, even all the cleaners around the hotel spoke to you. Couldn't fault the food spoilt for choose. Must admit it's the best I've slept the bed were big and comfortable and changed regularly. Our travel rep Leila was great so bubbly always had time to speak with you best rep we've ever had.

My husband and I spent 1 week at the Helena Sands Hotel in Sunny Beach. We could not fault the hotel at all. Spotlessly clean and tidy. A large room with sea and pool view. Bed was hard but huge. Would not recomend going in May as Sunny Beach does not open up until first week in June. Weather was perfect and we even had a mini earthquake thrown in too. If people are looking for a first class hotel away from the busy pub scene then this hotel is perfect. It is situated right on the end of sunny beach, no traffic is allowed on this strip. For the younger generation it is probably too far away.
We were half board. The food was fine, plenty of variety at breakfast. Dinner was fair but a bit bland. Staff polite, friendly and very smart.
I would rate this hotel a 5*

My husband and i spent a week at Helena sands hotel, from 23rd sep 2013, the place was spotless. the staff very helpful and friendly. We had a sea and pool view which was lovely. The beds were comfortable and changed regularly. The food was very good and my husband who is a fussy meat and two veg man ate very well there. Every thing around the area is very cheap; 20 cigarettes 5 levs so £2.50 a packet, cocktails two for £3.00, a light lunch for two with a wine and a cider £12_15.00. They have a spa centre and indoor pool this was also very good, the weather was sunny for the first four days then cloudy but still warm. Because we went later in the season some things were not open in the hotel, the pool bar and sushi restaurant, the fish restaurant was open and very good. And for the same reason their was no evening entrainment. Once you leave the lovely hotel it is very different the walk along the shop and restaurant lined sea front is tacky, and like a cheap sea side town it stretches for about a mile, it is aimed at a 18_30 yr s type of holiday and younger people seemed to love it, it was open in the evenings but not for us, but we did go that way for lunches all of which were good. the hotel and the resort did not seem to match. we went to Nessebar for a day trip this is cobbled and old fashioned the cakes are great and there are lots of tourist shops.

Room Tip: pool and sea view rooms are quiet, and have a great ambiance. We had a suite which had two bathroom...

Returned to bulgaria for a second time in three weeks but couldn't get in helena park as it was fully booked. So we decided to stay here instead.
Room was ok a little bit bigger than helena park with a good sea view and again was spotlessly cleaned everyday.
Staff although were very grumpy nobody hardly smiling at all. Some just did'nt seem to care about you. Food was ok but not as good as helena park and the restaurant staff did'nt like it if used a table which was supposed to be set out for the evening meal. They seemed to squash you in a such a small area that you were touching somebody elses elbows - which was a bit annoying when you are trying to eat.
Good to see the animation team again we feel as though that they are our friends now
Holiday rep was good again when we did see often enough she always came over to see us most times.
It was a lot quieterthus time as a lot more stalls and shops had closed for the season.only good point was beer was cheaper than before 29p a pint as we think they were just selling at this price just to get rid of it. Unfortunately we won't stay here but would recommend its sister hotel helena park as staff were a lot more friendly and we seemed to enjoy it more as we came home and booked there for next year.

Returned on 27th September following 7 nights half board at the Helena Sands Hotel (not to be confused with the Helena Park Hotel) which is in the same resort. We found the hotel lived up to it`s 5* rating. A spotlessly clean hotel in every aspect from the reception, bedroom, dining room, bar area and swimming pool. We found all the staff to be professional. The food and dining room staff were both excellent. A wide variety of food was available and appeared to cover all the guests needs at breakfast and dinner. My wife took advantage of the spa facilities and enjoyed the pampering on offer saying it employed staff that clearly new what they were doing. I know the issue of the cold water swimming pool is well documented on this site but I feel I must add my own comment. It is a comment that many would consider minor. I am not a lover of swimming in the sea and one of the reasons for selecting this hotel, was for the wonderful looking outdoor swimming pool. The air temperatures for the week we stayed were fantastic and to have enjoyed a swim in the pool would have been great but you would not want to leap in after dipping one foot into it. However the hotel did have a small indoor pool and this did get used every day by us.

Room Tip: Request a room with a sea view.
