“An Honest review!!!”

Stayed at this hotel 2 years ago. Perfect location close to all shops, bars and restaurants couldnt ask for a better location. We stayed Half Board at the hotel food was disgusting that is the only word I have for it. The hotel itself was really clean and good entertainment on. Bulgaria itself is really cheap to eat and drink out so defo do self catering not worth all inclusive at all.

We traveled July 2013

Hotel was lovely right on the beach, and not far from anywhere you want to be, we ventured out to a few restaurants which were all lovely, all friendly people.

We went in the summer when kids were off so it was really busy, out of 10 days we only got a sunbed at the pool 1 day and my partner unfortunately had a rude German women running past him to race him to the sunbeds (this was at 6am in the morning) even though it says do not reserve the seats we had no option than to do this, fortunately even though the women dived over 4 sunbeds there were still 2 for us.

The food you can order at the pool is nice, same as the Italian restaurant which is attached just where you sit is different. We were half board and went to the included evening meal once and my partner grabbed my arm and we walked out, it didn't look very good at all. Breakfast is good, we went almost every day.

Best part of the holiday was the singer/musician Daniel, he sung rock songs every night he was really friendly and great fun and had a really good laugh. Bar tender with the bald head was good fun, always giving us strange shots !! Cocktails buy one get one free - cant complain

We expected the place to be cheaper because of what friends had told us, it is cheaper than home but not amazingly cheap as it was made out to be. We spent about £1000.00 in 10 days, we went on a couple of trips as well so not too bad I guess. The Khans tent was great, you sit with strangers though (I think they put you in similar age ranges) we were unsure at first but as the drinks were flowing we had a great laugh, although we missed the bus back some how!!! Haha. We also went on a boat trip which was about £30 all you can eat and drink, was lovely, really recommend.

Room was good, clean, shower always worked even if it did leak a bit, the bed was comfy and the TV had English channels, mini fridge too, just felt strange having a carpeted room on holiday!

Would go back but maybe out of season, it was really really busy.

This was our 3rd year back at the Globus and already booked for next year. Have read all the reviews for this hotel and really everyone had different expectations about what they expect from this hotel. I love hence going back next year.
Room - yes the decor might be old but how many hotels do you know back home that are always upgrading the rooms. The room is fine for a two week holiday and the maids keep the rooms clean wanting in every day unless you put the do not disturb sign up which I did often as I did not need them in every day as I was quite capable of keeping the room clean myself. We had a room to the front and it is not as noisy late at night as some people have mentioned though I prefer a room to the back because you get the sun in the afternoon to evening. Get a safe but we did not have any trouble leaving things in the room but it is better to be safe than sorry.
Reception - I found the staff very pleasant always had a smile for me and hello as I always said hello to them. Yes when your case was taken up the guys would look for a tip but they are on duty to all hours of the morning waiting to show you up to your room and probably for rubbish wages.
Location - this is brilliant right in the heart and on the front central to all. Couldn't ask for a better location.
Food - go bed and breakfast but even avoid that. It is the same for most of the hotels. The bar restaurant food was nice and have been told the A La Carte restaurant is lovely but there are also plenty of lovely restaurants around.
Bar - the staff are all lovely and it amazes me how they remember people when you think of the thousands that come through the doors. We had a great time and were looked after well by Kalin, Bryan, Mario and Marina. They always had a smile and a laugh and they really do put in the hours and sometimes have to put up with some right idiots.
All in all I love this hotel and do feel it gets some unfair criticism. They are upgrading the reception area for next year so can't wait to see what they do.
As I said have already booked for next year and can't wait to return so give it a go and remember you are here for a holiday not to stay there for ever.
See you next year guys and can't wait.

Room Tip: Go for a room at the back to get the sun late afternoon

The hotel is excellent, the staff friendly and welcoming but food oh my goodness its the worst I have ever seen or tasted anywhere in the world. The food is brought out cold and put into the carvery unit to warm up, dinner starts at 6pm until 9pm so by the time dinner is about to finish its just starting to get warm, the chef knows 100 different ways to cook potatoes badly and that's me being kind. Breakfast is even worse but if you go down into the bar in the Lobby you can pay for a proper cooked breakfast which is wrong when you've already paid for your food. My advice book room only and eat out as food is cheap and well cooked in most places. After the first day we never bothered with the hotel food again but did go in just to see what poor food was on offer each day and walk straight back out. The hotels location is superb and the sea view we had was excellent but the food let's the overall experience down .

As a last minute deal we chose the Hotel Globus as have never travelled to Bulgaria before and were excited at the prospect of a new experience. The travel agent mentioned that if you didn't like the food on a half board basis then it was so cheap to eat out. We gave the food a try in this hotel but it was more geared towards Eastern European/Russian tastes which we appreciated. We managed a couple of dinners/breakfasts but even then, the only fruit supplied was melon or plums for the whole 11 days and we just couldn't stomach the margarine nor the bread so we opted to eat out for the rest of our hols. This was the only negative.

The hotel is a beach fronted hotel..with views across to Old Nessabar and in the middle of all activities in the beach area. excellent location, staff so friendly and the maid service is second to none. We had a sea view balcony on the 4th floor above the main poolside bar and there was entertainment every night..albeit the same repertoire. We couldn't have asked for a better room as the views were stunning. The music stopped at 12am which we liked. MYbe because it was September time and less youngsters?

We paid 11 days for the price of 7 flew from Edinburgh and to be honest weren't expecting much... But what we got was a great wee hotel..right in the hub of all beach activity with the friendliest staff which was indeed a positive. We are definitely going to return..prob not to Globus as we would prefer a wee bit of a higher standard of bth accommodation and food but if they upped their game would def go back...mainly for the location and friendliness.

Are already looking to return to Bulgaria next year.
