Worth to take this hotel because of good service. The food is just OK and not more of that. I personally was tired to see same food every day. The hotel location is good, very close to the beach and all other attractions.
There is a free shuttle to Varna Grand Mall (40 minutes to go ) from a near hotel.
One more thing, the personnel don't speak English and barely Russian , this is the only huge minus.
The bottom line: Very GOOD budget hotel of 4 stars!

Room Tip: As far as possible from their outside stage. Only with the sea view, cause on the backside there is...

The hotel is nice. The rooms are large and clean. Safe box, mini bar (it is empty, so you can use as a refrigerator :)), TV. Very nice bathroom (shower, bathtub, all the amenities and etc).
Personel of hotel always smiling, saying "hallo", trying to help, if you need.
Well, the food is normal, good. You never stay hungry. There are Asian, Bulgarian and Spanish food evevnings (three different once a week). In June we could find fruits: bananas, apples, pears, nectarines, pineaplles, oranges. There are always fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, carrots, olives and few kinds of salads. Every evening something is being cooked "live": turkey, calamares, salmon. So, maybe the choice is not from 50 dishes, but always you can find someting good :) It depends on your expectations. Let's be honest: this hotel is not that expensive, if you want to compare to 5* world standarts. For Bulgaria it is really more than OK. I've talked to some people from other hotels (for ex. ADMIRAL 5*). They told me, the food is not that perfect there.
If you have "half board" meal plan at Melia, I would highly recomend "Beef Party" restaurant by the sea (probably 100 meters to the rigth, when you walk down the Melia stairs). You can have a nice see view and 20% discount for everything (apx. from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m) every day. Only on Mondays 10% discount.
You can have 2 glasses of local beer (0.3 L), "chopska" (national) salad - very fresh and super tasteful, and grilled meet (3 sticks like "sashlik") with french fries only for about 23 levs (aprx 10 euro). It is enough for two people :)
Also you can find many "Aldo" supermarkets around, MacDonalds, kebabs, ice cream :)
Let's get back to Melia Grand Hermitage.
In Golden Sands this hotel is the best choice. I am a travel agent :)))) So, I always take the responsibility for what I'm saying :)

Room Tip: Sea view rom is really nice :) But until 11 p.m. animation music from pool side (if balcony doors ar...

Me, my wife and our little baby daughter had a wonderfull stay at this hotel. Only complaints are the very expensive parking and the too crowded pool area. Otherwise big rooms, (which should be cleaned more thoroughly because by only vacuuming one could not remove the black stains from the carpet), good, diversified food, good location, very helpful and pleasant staff in all hotel departments, many facilites for children which makes parents' life easier, very good animation team with lots of activities for adults and children. Might i mention the general manager (i think it was him?!) always present within hotel grounds and correcting and giving directions to employees. Never have i seen in a hotel so many (many, many,....) children from 2-3 months and up. For us it was pleasent, but perhaps for others not so much. Anyway around the pool during the day it was very noisy (music, animation,...) which can be good for some, but not so good for others. In the end i would totally recommend this hotel, especially for families with children.

Dear guests,
We are glad you are writing on Tripadvisor and you are describing your impassions of Melia Grand Hermitage. On behalf of the whole team I would like to thank you for the nice words. We do have many families with children and we are trying to make their stay as pleasant as possible. Considering this we have a brand new concept for kids, which includes a mini reception where children can check in, we have a big animation team which assures the kids are taken care of and not to miss the dolphin Splash which is our new member in the animation team. The animation at the pool area is organized taking into consideration the relaxing ours of the day in order not to be disturbing for the guests. Regarding the price of the parking, it is based on all the costs and fees that the hotel has got. I would like to inform you that the carpets in the rooms are washed every season. At some floors the carpets were replaced and gradually we will replace or change all the room carpets.
We look forward to welcoming you again in Melia Grand Hermitage.
Kind regards,

My school celebrated our graduation at the hotel. The rooms were rather spacious, however, the quality of the food was really poor. The food during the special dinner was not fresh but was probably made and left from the proms the previous nights. On the one hand, there was a great variety of food for breakfast, nevertheless, again it was of a poor quality... as a person who has traveled around the world a lot I would like to express my dissatisfation with my stay at Melia Grand Hermitage and the hotel does not at all meet the characteristics of a 5-star one! It is too big and this makes it uncomfortable. You also have to pay 20lv per night for a parking lot, which is too high for Bulgarian standards. Be sure you have taken all your belongings when you go out of your room (either by the pool, or for a wlak) because it may take you 7-8 minutes to go from the lobby back to the room.

Room Tip: You world be probably asked to pay more but ask for a room with a view of the sea.

We would like to thank you for spending time and writing a review on Tripadvisor. We value the opinion of our guests. We are sorry that we didn’t reach your expectations. I would like to assure you that all the food is cooked right away, and everything is fresh. We follow certain procedures and standards which assures the quality. The suppliers we work with are one of the best ones on the local and international market. Indeed we are one of the biggest hotels in Golden Sands, which at the same time allow us to offer many different outlets for the convenience of the guests, such as shops, mini market, fun zone, mini club, beautician, rent a car, a la carte restaurant, casino and others. Regarding the charge for the parking, at each of the hotels in Golden sands there are fees for the parking. The price at our hotel is well balances and it is based on the costs for it.
We hope to have you as a guest again in the near future.

First impression is okay. But nothing more than that. The hotel is pretty nice, the room is clean but the restaurant is not what we expected it to be. It is noisy and it does not give the five star feeling. We tried to upgrade to the level programme, but apparently it is fully booked..

Dear Guests,
We are grateful to you for sharing your thoughts about your stay in Melia Grand Hermitage. In deed our hotel is very big and we have many guests. However, in this way we are able to provide our guests with many advantages such as shops, fun zone, mini reception, mini club, rent a car, beautician, and garden with kid’s playground. We are very proud of our Level program, which is more adults oriented and also offers many benefits to the guests- separate reception, premium areas at the pool, garden area with sun beds, free mini bar, and a special lounge area called Level lounge.
We hope to welcome you again in the near future and give you the opportunity to try the level program.

This hotel is really nice, the location is excellent and the rooms are nice and clean. But, the food is not good at all, do not have the breakfast there, it's really horrible, we had gotten the Level room, so had the exclusive breakfast which was edible, but the first day we made a mistake and went to the regular breakfast, there was not one single thing we could eat. Also, we had lunch at the bar on the pool on our last day, we ordered the burgers which were not so good. Other than that if we're ever back there we will for sure stay in this hotel again. Try the spa, they are really good and have a wide variety of massages.

Room Tip: Get the Level rooms, they are worth it because of the view and breakfast. Also, there a special spac...

Just got back from 1 weeks all inclusive holiday staying at this hotel in Bulgaria. Really enjoyed our stay the only downside was the sun loungers. Towels were placed on them for hours on end without anyone using them despite a notice at the pool side saying that towels were not to be placed on them. We were there for a week and could not get one! It kicked off a few times over this issue. Would go back again as the hotel was lovely and there were plenty of bars etc along the promenade

Thank you very much for sharing your opinion about your stay at Melia Grand Hermitage. We are very glad that you had and enjoyable stay with us. Regarding the issue with reserving sun lounges with towels, we have indeed signs and try to avoid this problem. However it is difficult to physically control people.
