A nice change of venue for Minot, ND. Excellent wine and even beer selection. Service was ok....sat at the bar with two bartenders and still had to wait to get their attention for a new bottle of beer. Its nothing to look at when your inside the bar....could use some updates. Would I go back....maybe if I was in the area.

What a great treat to have a place like this in town. The wine list is good for the middle of North Dakota and the desserts are good, too. A nice stop for a night out.

I was delighted to find a tapas place in Minot, and one that advertises itself as a wine bar. I was even more delighted with its casual, relaxed, yet upbeat atmosphere. But that is all this place offers. The service was OK. While the server was friendly, we sat for long periods with no beverages and then no bill. This was a surprise because the one thing every restaurant in North Dakota seems to get right is service. On to the food. What can I say but, "eh." It was nothing more than what you would find at a typical backyard party, save the meatballs, which were great. The meat and cheese plate was nothing more cheap cold cuts and various kraft cheeses served with, no kidding, Ritz crackers. More disappointing than the food was wine list, which was nothing more than the usual $10 offering at your local grocery store. Absolutely nothing interesting or particularly good. If a place advertises itself as a wine bar, it should offer something better and more interesting than the typical jammy, hot grape juice mass produced for the american market boasting a clever label. I meant come on, Martini and Rossi as the btg sparkling wine offering? They should not, I suppose, be chided for this. Getting a good glass of wine in North Dakota is next to impossible. Off the Vine is charming and could be great if they would only go off the beaten North Dakotan restaurant trail, step into the 21st century, and offer wines suitable for the label of "wine bar. Well, at least step up the food.
