“Home away from home!!”
Reviewed 18 March 2013

I am the owner of a small business and for the last 1.5 years my employees and I have stayed at this establishment. I would recommend them to anyone and in fact I have. The rooms are exceptionally clean (even with renovations going on), housekeeping staff are exceptional, the restaurant has great food and staff, the front desk staff are amazing (sometimes they work wonders to get you a room) and the managers are probably 2 of the nicest people you could ever meet. Like I tell my employees if you are ever homesick, spend some time talking to any of the staff there and they will make you feel as if you are at home and one of the family!

I have stayed in several BCMI locations over the years. I have been staying at this location in Drayton Valley for eight months and have found it to be a good place to stay. The staff is polite, the rooms are clean and quiet, the food is very good and the management is very accommodating and hardworking. I especially like the soups and specials in the restaurant and the friendly staff. I intend to stay here for the duration. Good value........

The only place in town who had a room for the night so I was destined to experience the BCMI. I would not recommend this place by any means. The inn is old, dirty, smells and is not worth the chance of catching the HIVs by staying here. The internet, while claimed to be high speed, is absolutely horrible. Water smells so much of chlorine it is likely lethal to consume.
On the plus side, the tvs worked.

Thank you for your comments. The internet is currently being tested and upgraded to improve the speed and availability needed to accomodate the demand of the current technology being used by our customers. As our motel is an older motel we are constantly making upgrades and improvements to our site. This spring we look forward to the outside building being renovated with new kitchens, carpets and completion of beds. We pride ourselves in our cleaning staff and constantly uphold them to our high standards. The water in Drayton Valley periodically is overwhelming with chlorine smell but that is controlled by the Town of Drayton Valley and not something I can address. BCMInns Drayton Valley offer rates that are based on the current economy and we are proud to offer "Great Value". Again, we thank you for your comments and we look forward to seeing you in the near future.

I stayed here with my family for one night. The facility is a little run down on the outside with paint peeling and such but the room was well appointed, clean and served our needs more than adequately. We needed a suite with a separate bedroom (with a door) and that is what we got - along with an extra bed, couch, full kitchenette, jacuzzi tub, double headed shower and double sinks in the bathroom for far less than it would have cost to stay in similar accommodations in town. The only real downside is that the nonsmoking suite (which is priced much higher than the single rooms) was right next door to a smoking room so we were treated with smoke fumes all evening and something reminiscent of pot at times. Still, by keeping the bedroom door closed the odours didn't enter the bedroom where the baby was sleeping. The building also seems to be very soundproof room to room as we couldn't hear our neighbours at all.

Ive stayed in far worse, believe me. I usually don't mind an economy hotel, as long as its clean. I had a ground floor room facing the parking lot. It was noisy. It was the older part of the hotel. I hear the newer rooms are much better. Floor was stained quite a bit. Shower was horrible. Was more of a painful mist than anything. Temperature wasn't consistent. Couldn't regulate temp in the room. Either too hot or too cold. Front desk girl was quite gruff.
All this being said, it is an economy hotel. If you want something fancier pay extra and stay somewhere else, otherwise expect what it is, a place to lay your head for the night.

I found the parking area extremely slippery and icy, it was dangerous to simply cross the parking lot to get to your room, or to go into the office to check. No
effort was made whatsoever to remove any of the snow or ice. The walkways leading to the room, were wood, the hotel appears to be under some form of renovation. The room was average, with a noisy heater, that would either heat the room up beyond a comfortable level, forcing you to turn off the heater, which them makes the room uncomfortably cool. There was a partial kitchenette, however the unit, did not appear well maintained, in that the tolet would run endlessly. The most discouraging policy of this hotel, was the fact that they clearly overcharge for their rooms, by a factor of 50 - 80% compared to other comparable hotels. The hotel offers no discounts whatsoever, the attitude of the front desk personel make checking in and checking out a bit of a chore. I will never stay at a BCM INNS hotel every again, I would suggest that you find alternate accomodation, and not stay at this establishment.

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel, at any cost... They overcharge by about 50 to 80%

Thank you for your comments. We have reviewed our snow removal procedures to ensure optimal safety, the heating unit in that particular room has been inspected, and the flooring is scheduled to be replaced this spring, hence the wooden exterior walkway. BCMI Drayton Valley, as well as all other Best Canadian Motor Inn locations, offers rates that are based on the current local economy and we are proud to offer "Great Value" at all of our locations. Again, we thank you for your comments and we look forward to seeing you at our other locations in the future!

Goiod rate on the sign brought us in after being hit by rooms much more expensive as we were on a budget. We were given a nice non smoking room and for the money we paid it roomwas nice, it was fairly quiet and the staff were friendly upon check in and check out. We were upgraded to a jacuzzi tub room. New flat screen TVs and the room came with microwave and small fridge as well. Free wireless wth a great connection as well. overall a nice sleep and wed go back there again.
