“Friendly staff”
Reviewed 13 June 2013

My husband and I stayed just one night at Heritage Inn on our way to Waterton Lake National Park. We were struck by the friendliness of the staff. Their complimentary breakfast was good and set up a bit differently than others we have had in the past. Meaning that they had four hot food choices set out to choose from with wait staff to help if you needed any help.

A good place to stay – standard rooms are good – they all have new beds. The upgraded rooms looked tempting but we decided to go standard and were still very pleased.

Room Tip: There are two types of rooms to choose from. The standard rooms are less expensive but still very co...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments about your most recent stay with us and for the positive mentions you made about staff, the quality of your room and the value of the free hot breakfast you received. I will ensure these comments are shared with the staff. They work very hard and it is always nice to have such positive feedback from a guest. We appreciate your taking time to write this comment.

We recently upgraded our standard rooms and believe these are just as comfortable as our elite rooms. We are very glad you found this to your liking. All of our rooms are given the same detailed attention to cleanliness and comfort.

Once again thank you for the wonderful comments and I hope that if you are ever in our area again, you stay with us.

Sincerely,

We had narrowed our choice of motels down to 2 before we arrived into Pincher Creek. Once here though, the thought of a swim and hot tub was too tempting, so we paid the extra and stayed at the Heritage Inn. We too were greeted by very friendly staff. The lobby area is nothing fancy really, but our room in the new wing was very nice - a higher than usual ceiling, wonderful beds, nice shower, separated kitchenette area with micro, beautiful counter tops, tile floors, and perfectly spotless. The pool and hot tub area, also pretty new and perfectly spotless, has a nice high ceiling, lots of glass, nice tile work everywhere - very nice! We preferred a ground floor room, but a second floor room would have an even better view of the Rocky Mountains of the Waterton National Park. We had a very good rest and stay!

Room Tip: Get a room n the new wind facing south or south west, above the ground floor for a great view!

Upon arrival I was greeted by a friendly front desk staff and the Assistant General Manager. I was instantly given a coupon to use in their restaurant or lounge and was even offered help by the manager to assist me with my bags to my room. I chose to stay in an elite room which was basically their upgraded newly renovated section. I was more than pleasantly surprised. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were immaculately clean and well taken care of, and there was an elevator to the 3rd floor. I had two beds in my room, each in separate bedrooms, the bathroom had a window to the main room, and it was so spacious I never felt "crowded" at all.
I visited both the restaurant for breakfast and the lounge for dinner and was very happy with the service that was provided.
Upon check out the manager thanked me by my name, and I walked out after my stay thinking I would definitely return the next time I was passing through.

This is the level and quality of service that should be provided to customers! You don't see the attention to detail anymore in the corporate world of hotel business and it was a pleasant experience to feel that simple gestures have not been forgotten. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that is in the area. Hats off to you Heritage Inn!

Room Tip: Pat the extra few dollars and get a room in the new section. Single, couple, or family you won'...

Stay in the new section ( back of hotel ). The rooms are generous in size and well appointed. Mini bar area has basic tea/coffee and fridge, added bonus microwave. We received a free upgrade- to a room with a separate bedroom (king bed), queen bed in main and a sofa bed! So great for a family or 4 or 5. The room also had heaps of storage and two bathrooms! If you are staying for more than a few nights the extra space is great.

Only downside, all pillows were too big and firm! Maybe two firm and two soft on each bed! Glad we brought our own pillows (we prefer soft pillows).

Restaurant is more casual - and food is OK. Huge portions though. Also we stayed Fri night and the special was an All you can eat Pasta and salad bar. You could select your ingredients and the chef cooks it for you, adding your pasta! Great for kids!

Room Tip: Ask for the new back section - and if you want the extra room with the king bed and 2 bathrooms it i...

Dear Guest,

Thank you so much for your kind comments. Our new wing is truly a great place to stay. Our rooms are large and very comfortable and we are glad you enjoyed it.

We have made several upgrades to our standard rooms and also are in progress of renovating our public areas and food & beverage departments. These improvements are planned to continue throughout the hotel in an effort to accommodate our guests more comfortably.

In regards to your comment about the pillows, I will look into possibly providing 2 different types of pillows to accommodate the different preferences of our guests.

I am glad you had a chance to take advantage of our “All You Can Eat Pasta Bar” in our Café. It has been very well received and truly satisfies individuals with a great appetite. Sports teams have always enjoyed this option.

I am glad your overall experience was positive with us from start to finish. We sincerely hope to have you and your group back with us in the future.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to comment about your stay with us.

We stayed here for one night after our association banquet and had been given a preferred rate which we really appreciated. As we walked through the older section we were very glad we chose the new Elite section. The older area has a very stale and smoky smell, at least in the halls. We chose a king bed and the room looked just like the photos on their website, and it was very clean (except the TV had not been wiped, which is not a real big detail). The room was very quiet, but we were on the third floor and possibly no one else was next door, but you usually hear something! It had a nice mini bar area, but sadly no ice machine on the third floor (you have to go to the second). The bed was firm but good quality...I really wish hotels would give guests an option of a firm mattress or a soft one. We can't be the only ones that prefer a plush, soft mattress!!
Breakfast was decent with generous portions, but nothing special. Perhaps some fresh fruit garnishes? Check-in staff were polite and efficient. We would stay here again.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments. I appreciate hearing our customer feedback and was so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. The elite rooms have been very well received by our guests, as they offer that upscale boutique feel that comes with many upgraded features.
I have been doing recent improvements to our standard section in the older wing and am hoping to soon provide that upscale level of comfort for our more budget minded guests. There is still a smoking section on the second floor of the older wing and this has been a subject of recent discussion on whether to eliminate this. I appreciate your input and in the meantime, we will continue to make every effort to purify the air as best we can.

I have noted your suggestions regarding the beds and the breakfast and have shared your comments with all the staff.

Thank you again for sharing your experience and I look forward to welcoming you back.

Dear Guest,

I was very distressed to read your comments regarding your recent stay with us. We strive to offer our guests a clean and comfortable stay no matter which room they are in. All the issues you mentioned are being investigated and addressed immediately and I can assure you that they are not commonplace.
I have recently made upgrades to the hotel, including painting, new beds, microwaves, new linens, and several other items. This is an on going project and done for the comfort of our guests. With these improvements we believe the standard section, where you stayed, will be as nice as the elite section, but still with budget in mind. We are also in review of switching the entire hotel to a non-smoking facility.
We appreciate the feedback that we get and value all guest comments.

We stayed here one night while visiting Waterton National park as their hotels were all booked.
Be prepared to use a credit card authorization for $250.00 damage deposit up front. Do not consider a room in the old wing. Our room was in the new wing on the third floor. Nicely appointed and tastefully decorated. Small fridge, microwave and coffemaker in the room. Pool area very nice. Food in the "Seasons" restaurant on site was acceptable but nothing special. Prices fairly reasonable. Staff friendly enough but very slow to check in and out.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new wing. A little more money but well worth it. Wouldn't consider stayi...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for staying with us during your recent trip to Waterton National Park and thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay. Waterton is beautiful and we have many guests that stay with us during their visit to the park.

You mentioned that you stayed in our elite new section. Our new wing is modern and comfortable and all of our guests seem to enjoy these rooms a great deal. Our standard wing has recently received new beds, microwaves, and fridges and is scheduled for more upgrades to be done in the near future. We are committed to offering comfort in all of our guest rooms.

As per hotel policy, we take a pre-authorized deposit of $250.00, plus the price of the room, including taxes, at check in. This is not an actual charge, but just a pre-authorization to cover all expenses. This allows the guest to charge meals to their room, make phone calls, etc. At check out, if the guest spends less than the pre-authorized amount, the extra hold is released. This is standard practice in the hotel industry and we make efforts to ensure that guests are aware of this policy.

Again, thank you for your comments and we hope that we may welcome you back on your next visit to the area.

Sincerely,

Claire Layton
