Looking at the web site and reading the reviews did not portray the property as it truly is. The place is very run down, we asked for a non smoking room, as my granddaughter has asthma, and we were put right next to a room where people were smoking, big overflowing ashtray right out front of the door. The room had that old, stale smoke smell everywhere but the bathroom. The smell was so strong I had difficulty sleeping. I have travelled extensively and am a very unpicky, make do traveller, but this was gross. Would not recommend this property.

Room Tip: Avoid this property.

For $75 I couldn't have been happier! This place is old, dated and very tired, but in spite of that, it was very well maintained. Clean and a GOOD mattress.
Breakfast in the morning included fresh fruit, toasted bagel/cream cheese, coffee/teas, toast and more.
Good enough for a single guy for sure.

Room Tip: I asked for a firm mattress

Just recently stayed at Peace Villa Motel on a trip up Alaska Hwy. $70 w/o tax with senior discount. To put this in perspective, paid $89 in Fort Nelson & $130 in Laird Hot Springs for similar. Hotel is older, maybe 3 star at best but room was clean, fridge, microwave, wifi and sparse free breakfast. Staff helpful. Room a bit musty as many of these older motels are. For the Alaska Hwy this was good value. Would stay there again.

Stayed for two nights in a large size room with two beds. The carpets and linens looked new and clean and the beds were comfortable. There was also a mini fridge and microwave in the room. The wifi didn't work right away, but after I phoned the front desk the problem was solved.

The bathroom was a bit on the small size, but had ample counter space. It looked as if they had started updating the bathroom with some new tile, however, there was still some 70's style tile and counter remaining. The ceiling above the tub was cracked and in need of repair, but the plumbing and hot water worked, so I was happy. The bathroom did not have an electrical outlet, but there was a separate counter, sink and mirror with an outlet there. Handy, as two people can get ready at the same time. The room did not have a blow dryer or ironing board.

The free breakfast, served in the lobby, included cereal, toast, bagels, coffee and tea. There was seating for 8 - 10 people.

This motel is close to hwy 97 and within walking distance to Boston Pizza and Mr. Mikes. It's about a 3 - 4 min. drive to the downtown area.

All in all, this is a fairly decent place for under $100.00.

The price is right as it is difficult to find a decent facility under $100. in this town. The outer structure could use some more TLC but it appears they are trying to upgrade the rooms form the 70's style they originally were. For a single fella travelling it is fine but probably not an option if you have allergies as the rooms do have that older-motel aroma. But, as noted, the price was right for me and they do try hard at making it a respectable operation.

Room Tip: I would request a room on the bottom floor next time as the stairs are in need of a bit of repair.

When we arrived at the Peace Villa Motel, the front desk clerk was very hospitable, and was very pleasant, and the lobby area looked very airy, and open. This is also where the free complimentary breakfast is offered (typical continental breakfast).

When we arrived at the room that we were going to be staying in for the night, I wouldn't rate it that good. The room smelled highly of disinfectant, and the furniture seemed quite dated. Furthermore, when we looked around further we noticed that there was a curtain missing, so that there was only a very light curtain was on the window, on one side. There was also a hair found in the tub that obviously hadn't been cleaned properly.

I found that the staff were very concerned about the welfare of their customers, by providing another curtain almost immediately after hearing about the problem.

Unfortunately, that is not where the problems ended. We were put by two women who smoked consistently, even in their room. Because of the "between room" doors not being too thick, the smell of cigarette smoke wafted in our room. With both of us being non-smokers this was a very big turnoff.

Overall, I would think highly of spending another 30 or 40$ and stay somewhere like the Super Eight, Days Inn etc., where the track record is proven.

Room Tip: If you're going to stay at this accommodation, ensure that you ask them for a room that is WELL...
