Found this gem quite by accident as wanted to stay in a B&B in this general area for one night . . . Would love to come back for a holiday anytime. A lovely old home kept immaculately; gracious and friendly hosts who serve delicious gourmet breakfasts. A quiet and peaceful retreat!

This is a very comfortable home which boasts 4-6 rooms
Monsieur and Madame were very pleasant to chat with and be sure to ask about the history of the building.
Breakfast was fit for a king.
We thoroughly enjoyed our night here. A great place to over night when travelling from Comox to Ucluelet-Tofino.

Room Tip: From what we saw all the rooms are unique and any room would not disappoint.

Went on vacation on Vancouver Island with no set agenda - just booking hotels on the fly as we arrived somewhere. Found Ship's Point on Booking.com by chance and once we were there, we didn't want to leave and end up staying for 3 nights. Breakfasts were always gournet and ever changing. Conversations with the varying guests each morning was always interesting and pleasant. Views were astounding and the area peaceful. This was our first experience with B&B and we were more than impressed. The hot tub in the eveing with views of the ocean and mountains was the icing on the cake. Thanks Robert & Agathe.

Room Tip: From our room at the ocean side of the inn, we could lay in bed and watch the Horby Island Ferry. Ha...

Was it really 2007 when Robert and Agathe first started operating Ships Point Inn at Fanny Bay? We believe so. We are certain that we discovered them their first year, and have been back every year since to this wonderfully hospitable, beautifully-located bed and breakfast.
This is a beachfront B & B with wraparound ocean views that cover more than 200 degrees. There is a prospect toward Fanny Bay and the mountains, toward Hornby Island, and down the channel to Courtenay and Comox. On this visit, we had a lovely view of the Marine Day fireworks at Comox, more than 20 km away. The spacious deck covers two sides of the large house, affording wonderful views and tables for enjoying a glass of wine
The rooms are tasteful, quiet, well-appointed and impeccably clean. There can't be many B & B breakfasts as good as the ones the hosts offer daily in their large, relaxed kitchen/dining area.
One tip: get down to breakfast a few minutes early to secure a seat on the view side of the table. We've been there when people traded seats after while, so nobody would miss out. Ships Point routinely draws interesting, considerate guests from Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
Robert and Agathe are witty and engaging even as they cook and and serve up wonderful breakfasts. They're also a storehouse of lore about the local birds and marine life, from eagles to oysters. Be sure to ask Robert about eagle mating rites; you won't be disappointed.
We've been to many B & Bs and have several favourites; but this one, Ships Point Inn, has a very special place in our hearts.

Don and Sydney Braid,
Calgary

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ship's Point, even though we are not frequent users of B&B's. The Ship's Point avoids the overdone frilliness that typifies too many B&Bs. Instead, they provide beautifully-decorated rooms with the cleanest rugs I have ever seen in a commercial establishment. That theme of rigorous attention to detail was a constant feature of our experience at Ship's Point. Agathe and Robert are fine hosts whose establishment blends marvellous location with superb furnishings, great food, and a great sleep to boot!

Hard to say which is better, the idyllic location or the gracious hosts. Ship's Point B&B occupies the last house on the Ship's Point road, with the property directly on the beach looking northward up Baynes Sound. This location offers bird watching, views of the Buckley Bay to Denman Island ferry plying back and forth, and the tides coming and going. All from the deck with tables and chairs or from the living and dining rooms. The lawn at beach level also has chairs and a picnic table. The hosts Robert and Agathe are very suited to B&B culture - helpful, but not intrusive, and very accommodating. We arrived at 6 pm after a drive up Vancouver Island and said we had brought a picnic dinner for the patio - by the time we had brought in the luggage from the car, the patio table was set up with plates, cutlery, and two wine glasses! The gourmet breakfast was sized right - fresh juice, home made muffins, and omlette with delicious salsa, and a breakfast desert of poached pears with a cottage cheese/honey/cinnamon sauce. Of course freshly brewed coffee. Fanny Bay itself is not a go to location - but Ship's Point B&B is!

Room Tip: Some rooms with a view are more pricy; we booked the less expensive "forest view" room but...

Our second time at this location and it was probably even better than our first stay there last summer. It is a very comfortable property and the innkeepers are very gracious and accommodating hosts. My parents joined us there for our second night and they are still raving about their stay. The views are spectacular and the breakfasts are great. I can't recommend this inn enough.
