We discovered this hidden gem on our recent Kootenay trip. Access for motorcycles is excellent and there is a wash station. The room was very good. It was very clean with an excellent bed, good sized bathroom, with absorbent towels. We appreciated the microwave and fridge. The "backyard" area off each room was perfect area to enjoy after a long ride. The dog liked the room too, a very important feature for pet owners. The Robinson's were gracious hosts. We will be staying here on our next trip!

Great to hear from you, and pleased you found the room comfortable. We try to keep the bikers happyour carport rooms are especially popular but you do need to ask in advance. As for the furry visitors, we are animal lovers, and love to meet and greet, and feel very privilidged when the pets make themselves at home too.

I'm writing this, using their free wi-fi, as my husband sits at the "back yard" picnic table by the river with his morning coffee reading a book (they have a book exchange in the office). What a beautiful little spot this is. We stayed in room 21 with two queen beds, fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Very clean and comfortable and the owners are friendly and helpful, even providing dinner coupons and maps of the area. We enjoyed our walk through the lovely historic town, and didn't see any other accommodation we would rather stay at on future trips. We would just head back to Johnny's.

What a great motel. Stayed for one night while driving from Calgary to Vancouver. Clive and Nicky were so pleasant and very welcoming. We booked early as well and were upgraded from a unit with two queens to the two room unit with a kitchen. Older motel but very, very clean. The pool was lovely as well. Also, a fantastic location to be on the river. Had a lovely evening to bbq dinner and sit on our patio all evening with a glass of wine. We will definitely stay again! The only downfall was the air conditioner in our unit was way to noisy for sleeping even though it was set at the lowest fan setting and could not get the wifi to work to use our laptop.

Thanks for your comments, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. we just wish you had mentioned to us that you were unsure how to long on top the wifi, its Clives passion upgrading the system and keeping up to date with all the latest technology. As for the A/C if you let us know which unit we can see if it needs replacement or maintenance. We went through last year and put ceiling fans in all the rooms, alot of people prefer them, but as we have renovated the rooms we have tried to position the A/Cs away from the top end of the bed to make for a quieter night. Thanks again.

Had a great stay ! The Owners were so pleasant & welcoming - would definitely recommend !! Very clean property, outdoor pool with lounge chairs, the room was very comfortable with mini-fridge, microwave, coffeemaker. We had a patio door which opened up to the river and sat out in the evening since it was so hot. Deer also roam the property. We will be back !!! Only downfall is the highway noise.

We are lucky to be set back from the highway, and the river usually detracts from the road noise, but if you are a light sleeper I guess it could be a problem. Unfortunately for a small town all the motels are on the highway, at least we are at the quieter end, and traffic is light most of the time. The new windows are great for noise reduction, we will look into relacing the bathroom windows in the patio door rooms this fall, to see if that helps. Look forward to seeing you again.

Stayed for one night on our way home from the island and wish we could have stayed longer! Spacious room, right on the river. Nicely renovated, very comfy. Great that we had a fridge and microwave. Loved the little beach by the river and picnic tables on the grass behind all the rooms!

Johnny's on the eastside of the bridge entering Grand Forks is a good little hotel. Although an older property and not much to look at, the rooms are clean, the queen size bed I had was comfortable and the 32 inch flat screen television worked (albeit there are no High Definition channels). Management/ownership are pleasant to deal with, and the location is ideal (on the river, just before the bridge on the east side of Grand Forks on Highway 3).

Keep in mind, this place is not The Ritz. It is, however, exactly what it tries to be: a comfortable, clean motel. My queen room was $79 plus tax. I highly recommend Johnny's, whether for a single night while driving Highway 3, or for an extended vacation in the Grand Forks area.

Thanks for your comments. Johnnys was origionally built in 1952, and rumoured to have been visited by the rich and famous in its early days .We have been here for eight years, and have managed a full renovation which was completed this year; all rooms have flat screen tvs and lovely new beds, The high definition iss something we may consider, but as picture quality is already so good is this an extra expense the gusts would want to take on.We may not look. spectacular from the front, but the colour scheme blends in with the surroundings better than the orange and turquoise of the seventies! We will keep on at it, your comments are really appreciated. thank you.

This conveniently located motel right beside town and the Granby river was great, especially considering how inexpensive it is. We stayed for three nights here and enjoyed it very much. The pool was cool and clean. The room was tastefully decorated, and included a fridge, ceiling fan, air conditioning, microwave and free wifi. The owner was pleasant and helpful. There were even 2 USB charging connections in the room!
