“Nice water but...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2014

So nice except for a little kid who kept yelling 'cannonball' before jumping into the pools repeatedly - such a pity his parents and grandparents, all four of them illiterate so couldn't read the the NO JUMPING sign...... and no staff appearance at poolside during entire 2 hour soak. Otherwise - really lovely. We were there while a storm was blowing down Arrow Lake and the setting was spectacular to watch over the lake. Change rooms are minimal - only 3 changing cubicles, each with a small stingy plastic stool to hold all your stuff off the wet floor. Yet...the water was lovely. A special rate was posted for 'dip & dine' where for $22 you can access the pool and get $15 towards your lunch which is a good deal as that brings the pool rate down to $7 from $12. So we inquired at the desk about it before we left saying we'd be back the next day to do it. The next day we drove the 35km back from Nakusp where we were staying only to find the restaurant was closed for maintenance! Unimpressed - especially as we had checked with staff the day before and there had been no mention the restaurant would be closed and there's nothing else around for 35km. The lady at the desk did say we could buy a pre-made sandwich for $5 which we declined. She was apologetic and offered us free pool access - which was very nice and which we accepted. And after a hour's soak drove back to Nakusp for late lunch. So a happy-sad situation but I though she handled it well. If you're driving to Halcyon from Nakusp I would recommend phoning first to see if what you want to access is actually open. Once again the water and pools are lovely.

Our family rented 2 - 1 Bedroom cottages and 1 loft cottage for 3 nights. We all loved it. We experienced it all - the pools, the spa, renting a canoe and paddle boat, the restaurant, the playground, and the hikes around the area. Our only real complaint was the fact that the 1 bedroom cottages didn't even have simple microwaves. The loft cottage had a 2 burner stove, fridge and microwave. We all ended up using that cottage for cooking, which was a tad inconvenient, but we survived. The price was decent, the customer service great, and the view was incredible. Our next stay will be better researched as to the amenities of each cottage/cabin/chalet.

Room Tip: For extended stays, choose your accommodations accordingly, with kitchens.

We rented a king chalet for a weekend getaway, it was a beautiful place lots of space, very clean and reasonable prices. The food at the restaurant is some of the best I've had at a restaurant in a very long time. The way they conducted themselves when we had an issue with the chalet made us forget the issue( they gave us a free night and passes to the pool and spa) we didn't even use them but the instant effort to make it right will always keep us coming back. Thank you to the staff for a great stay and see you soon

Had a nights stay in a chalet at the hot springs room was clean and well appointed a little bit far from main resort view was very nice. the hot springs were ok however nothing at the resort really jumped out at us to make it a special place. The restaurant was good food was ok however the service needs improving.. I would also suggest the lawn sprinkler's are timed on a little earlier no need to get wet before the hot springs..

Great prices, great accommodations, and the hot springs are invigorating, clean, and have natural healing properties to alleviate all the aches and pains. The scenery is breathtaking and there is ample wildlife viewing opportunities.

Halfway between the Okanagan and Calgary, Halcyon was the best place to reunite with family! We rented a loft chalet ( sleeps up to 10) with full kitchen, including dishwasher, wine fridge and barbecue. The views from all parts of the property are fantastic. We lounged in one of the 3 pools looking out over Arrow Lake and the Purcell mountain range. The accommodations are priced to suit all budgets, including RVs. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient, The accommodations were very clean and comfortable. We will be returning. On of our special moments was seeing a mother deer with very small spotted fawn.

Only stayed here for one night, however it was very enjoyable, very nice and private rooms away in the woods, great pool area, and incredible views overlooking the lake and the mountains. Wish there was more time to explore the area
