“Relaxing!!!”
Reviewed 24 July 2013

For those of you who need to get away from it all, this is definitely the place. Initially we were concerned that because of the seclusion of this property, we would be bored; however, it is day 4 of our week-long stay and we can't believe how quickly the time is passing. We have a two bedroom, two bathroom lower condo with fully equipped kitchen, livingroom and dining room. The decor is rustic ski lodge chic with antler chandeliers in the dining room and front hall and rustic fittings and furnishings. Our brick paved beautiful patio is fully equipped with stainless steel bbq and patio furniture and backs onto the mountains and Toby Creek, a fast-running stream that is perfect for white water rafting enthusiasts and fly fishing. Cable cars take you to the upper level of the resort where you will find restaurants and a shop where you may purchase a variety of ski gear, souvenirs and outdoor wear, most reasonably priced. If you enjoy biking, you can take the ski lift up to the top of the ski hills and bike down (not for the faint of heart). We thought from the descriptions of the road from Invermere to Panorama that we would be hanging off the side of the mountain, but the road is clear and concrete guards are in place on the most dangerous corners. That said, winter might be a different story. All in all we are enjoying the peace and tranquility of this beautiful resort, including deer who wander about fearlessly feeding on the plants and bushes on our patio. If you are arriving from the city, I recommend that you bring groceries with you as the food/drink prices here are high. If you are looking to kick back and relax, I highly recommend this resort.

Room Tip: Bring groceries with you - food and drink are very expensive in the small tuck shop and village of I...

We enjoyed our stay. We were there from 4/7 to 4/14 so shoulder season which meant all the restaurants and most businesses were closed except the T Bar. Very important that we bought food in Invermere or planned for Fubuki sushi in Invermere which I highly recommend or heading north towards Banff for some really good food. Overall vacation to the area was fantastic. Lots of fresh powder in April no less and had an EPIC day out with RK Heli ski right there in Panorama.
The Intrawest was nicely appointed but nothing that I would go on about. towels and bedding definitely need an upgrade (contrary to some previous reviewers.... which I don't get.... maybe they stayed in a better unit?) If we didn't exchange for this unit we'd be paying $400 per night for a 2 bedroom at riverbend (I checked with Intrawest to see about booking an additional night before we came and glad we didn't for the price). For that kind of money the ammenities should be a little nicer. It seems the 1 bedroom Intrawest units that are up at Taynton Lodge (the ski in ski out portion of Intrawest) may be a little nicer?? Our unit was "nice" but in many ways very middle of the road and in all of the years of exchanging all over the country we have stayed in much nicer and larger units than this 2 bdrm. A few have said very well stocked kitchens.... I would say they are average at best but should have most of what you'd need. And a few have said nice beds, I couldn't disagree more, at least for our unit #16. The beds and the linens were in desperate need of an upgrade. Bathrooms were standard and on the smaller side, nothing fancy but adequate. The living and dining spaces were nice, gas fire place is nice, close proximity to hot tub and Toby Creek a plus. Service was good but maintenance should pay a little more attention to things like leaky faucets and tiled floor heating that does not work which is disappointing on a cold day. Other than that, over all good stay. I will probably not return though. With so many great places to visit and so many resorts catering to discerning travelers, I would put Club Intrawest Panorama very luke warmly in the middle of the rankings.

Club Intrawest owns a few units riverside in Panorama BC. It is extremely well stocked for cooking and near some good restaurants. Many weekly specials that are surprisingly economic and tasty. Big downside of the units is that they have no internet access in 2013. The staff has promised this will be remedied by 2014 but that remains to be seen. It seems that playing with our gadgets is a big part of our vacations these days!! Also have to plan for the next stop. The ski mountain is excellent. A great day trip to Lake Louise provided good xcountry skiing, beautiful scenery and the additional fun of the ice sculptures at the Chateau Lake Louise.

Room Tip: They are lovely and I think the four or so units they have are similar.

We stayed overnight in early September (what they call shoulder season) and I can't say enough about this wonderful property. The setting is so tranquil... amidst the peaks with a lovely creek running alongside the property. I love to sit by the creek and listen to the sound of the water rushing past the huge boulders. The hotel suites are very spacious and everything you need is there if you want to cook, yet it's handy if you want to walk up to the few restaurants on the mountain. The intrawest folks really try to make your stay comfortable. The bedrooms are quiet and the beds are super comfy! I really did not want to leave when it was time to head off to our next destination. Just remember, if you plan on cooking bring your food up with you because there is very little shopping here.

Room Tip: All rooms have mountain views and creek access.

We recently went to Panorama and stayed the Club Intrawest there. We'd signed up with Intrawest at Whistler the previous year and this was our first experience with the club. We were a little skeptical but the stay at Panorama was wonderful.

We had a beautiful one bedroom condo right on the hill (in Taynton Lodge). The condo has a beautifully appointed full kitchen, a very nice living area and bedroom with whirlpool tub. The units come with a ski locker in the ski room which offers ski-in, ski-out access to the hill and lifts. There are limited other amenities at Taynton Lodge so you'll either cook up dinner or go out to the haf dozen restaurants in the resort. There are some nice hot tubs outside and a small gym. The Intrawest staff were incredibly responsive to any needs, very friendly and almost instantly fixed any issues with the condo (dryer not working or out of toilet paper, etc.). It was pretty impressive.

Panorama is a terrific ski hill, perfect for expert or intermediate skiiers. Plenty of challenging double black glades and bowls for experts and terrific black and blue runs for intermediates (including several fun glades!). It's more intimate and quieter than Whistler but also doesn't suffer from the fog you often find there! With 4000 ft of vertical and typically lots of snow, it's fantastic skiing. What really makes the resort special (apart from the great ski hill) are the Mountain Friends. These are typically locals (or winter locals!) who know the ski hill well and meet you in the morning and afternoon, sort you out by skill level and then bring you to the most interesting parts of the hill. A great way to meet people and have a greta ski day typically ending up at the bar for some apres ski drinks!

The village is relatively small with a few shops. You won't find clubs so it's more for skiing, families but not those looking for a party.

This is one fantastic ski-in / ski-out vacation spot. Located in eastern British Columbia, the modern upscale resort is at the foot of Panorama ski hill. Panorama is an excellent ski hill that has one of the highest vertical drops in North America (almost 4,000 feet). It's has loads of very challenging Black Diamonds but also has its share of Blue and Green runs. Panorama is located approx 30 minutes uphill from Invermere BC in the East Kootenay mountains. The village is smallish with a few shops and restaurants. If you're looking for nightlife or a large variety of restaurants, this is not the place; it's a great place for families and couples but not for young adults looking to party. We had a 1 bedroom suite that had a full kitchen, jacuzzi, 2 TVs and was beautifully decorated. There's indoor heated parking and a ski-in ski-out locker room where you store your ski gear. In the morning, we would go down to the locker in our slippers, get geared up, then exit the room right to the hill where we skiied down to the lift. At the end of the day, we skiied right to the entrance of that room. Panorama is a hidden gem.
