Four of us are vacationing from the UK; my fiance loves all things to do with flying and as none of us had ever been on a floatplane we'd planned to take scheduled flights to and from Vancouver. Unfortunately a return wasn't available within our timescale - but the guys at Harbour Air took to the time to discuss options with us, and we went for a 30 minute tour instead. My fiance sat in the co-pilot seat and the rest of us were in the back - we flew in a DeHavilland DHC-2 Beaver and although it looked small there was plenty of room for us - even my 6'5" son had enough head/legroom to sit comfortably. We chose a morning flight as we'd been advised by the staff at Harbour Air that the light's particularly good that time of day - it was wonderful to fly along Jervis Inlet and over places we'd visited over the last few weeks, including Skookumchuck, Ruby Lake, Pender Harbour, Smugglers Cove and Sargeants Bay. It was great to see Sechelt from the air too, and to fully appreciate how narrow this little strip of land is. The tour gave us a much better idea of the scale and beauty of the scenery along this part of the Sunshine Coast and whetted our appetite to explore even more. Thanks to Chad, our pilot, and the guys at Harbour Air for suggesting this tour to us, we all thoroughly enjoyed it.
