My wife and I stayed here for one night as a stopover between Vancouver and Banff. How lucky we were to choose this place along the 848Km journey. Victoria, the owner was most welcoming, very gracious and above pleasantly friendly. We sat drinking a well deserved beer on the terrace overlooking the lake when she introduced us to JR and his wife from Louisiana and exchanged information about our tour plans. Victoria was very informative. We ate out in the evening at Mouse Mulligans in Sicamous. The food was average/good, but the price and service were very good. Breakfast was superb, with everything homemade and plenty of it. It was a very sociable experience dining with the other guests with Victoria acting as hostess.
The slight downside to the Artists House, is its location, adjacent to the railway line and not the easiest place to find. However, Victoria and her house were perfect and well worth overcoming these very small inconveniences. It must be appreciated that the railway is a major transport facility in Canada, so it is never very far away.More
