We stayed here last July for a few days. The hotel is clean, situated in a nice area - and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The BBQ and pool area is nice and accessible for cooking etc. They made our dog Buddy feel very welcome. If you are planning on staying for longer than a couple of days - I would recommend bringing a few of your own cooking pots, or fry pan. The selection is limited if you want to do a big breakfast or dinner. You might also want to bring a couple of lawn chairs to make yourself more comfy. I would definitely come back the next time we visit the area.

Room Tip: We stayed along the back so we could have some shade in the afternoon.

Though modest the units are large with two bedrooms and kitchen facilities. This motel is ideal for family with children because of the separate bedroom, the kitchen facilities, the large grounds away from the highway and the BBQ area.

We stayed at the Motel over the weekend in August and had the worst experience I have ever had in any situation. The owners stalked us all weekend and bullied us around all day and night. The weekend ended up by us calling the police as the the owner started a fight by chasing one of the guests with a wrench and threatening the rest of the group with a baseball bat. It was scary and a display of disgusting behaviour. I recommend never staying there. If you catch them on a good day don't expect that behaviour to last.

The good: The pool and the grounds are well kept. The towels were in good condition.
The bad: This hotel was probably built in the 50's. Not that that is a bad thing, but the rooms are still in that era. Worse the concrete is coming up and one of the guest broke a toe nail. The fridge was loud, and you had to open the freezer door with your little finger. There was an ice machine, but it had been in storage for years because it didn't work. The stove door wouldn't close so was unusable. There weren't enough dishes or utensils. The sheets on the bed were to short so came out at the top in the middle of the night. The TV was probably from the 70's and was on top of the dresser next to the bed instead of at the end so you had to sit on the side of the bed. The WiFi was only usable when you were outside your room, or next to the window in just the right position. The window mount air conditioner was in the bedroom so privacy was out of the question or else those in that room would freeze and those in the living area would roast. It was also loud so ear plugs were required. Smoking while not allowed in the rooms was allowed right outside the door, so you had to keep your door and window closed. There were yellow jackets everywhere and the manager made no attempt to deal with them.
Not sure how anybody could rate this motel anything greater than Average and that would be very generous, unless of course it was a false review from a friend.
The ugly. The Manager/Owner of this motel would seem to be more of cop than manager, walking around enforcing her rules which are not available, until you are at the front desk checking in and some that you are not made aware of until you break one (quiet time doesn't mean bed time). It's OK to have rules, but not be rude, mean, threatening, and worst of all violent to your customers. The Manager's husband, a logger, threatened several of our guest with a baseball bat, and myself with "...I'll knock you out..." and finally knocking me down, spraining my thumb, and hitting me with a wrench. I turn 70 in a week. And the final bit of ugly, threatening to "put a hole" in the constable that was called to the motel when the husband knocked an Iphone out of my niece's husband's hand and refused to return it then chased him with the wrench.
The plus. Yep there is a plus. This motel will except cash and not collect taxes or register the actual guest. They will also accept bribes so that you can bypass some of the "rules". Total spent by our group in cash for rooms and bribes: Nearly $1500.00.
Now is this anyway to run a motel?

Room Tip: Make sure you know the rules before you stay anywhere. Read all of the reviews on any motel. This p...

The motel staff were very friendly and helpful. Handy to the slip to launch the boat. Located ideally on the Shuswap. Heated outdoor pool very comfortable rooms etc and reasonably priced. Restaurants were within walking distance. Grandpa's & grandma's cafe was great for breakfast and in easy walking distance. The rooms had all the equipment necessary for self catering if required also ample parking for ur truck and boat. Any problems with ur boat there is a marine store next door who can supply any parts and repairs required to get you back on the water.

Room Tip: Always ask to see the room u will be staying in

My wife and I spent a single night here in late August. This facility is located in proximity of and with easy access from the Trans Canada Highway.
Our internet reservation worked as intended. The front desk clerk (probably the owner) was congenial.
Our room was dated, had damaged flooring and numerous nicks on the walls – badly in need of renovation. The carpet was slightly soiled. The windows need cleaning. The cathode ray tube television was inoperable even with instructions from the front desk. The entry room was designed to have seating and a television. The seating had been removed and replaced with a double bed, resulting in seating being limited to two worn and uncomfortable chairs. The unit contained a small well used stove, average sized fridge and small table with chairs. A separate room houses another double bed. The bathroom has a heated tile floor. The door and windows are so ill fitting that vehicular and railway noise infiltrates the room. The bed was tolerable but fitted with sheets which had small blood stains. The remaining linen was adequate. A window style air conditioner is provided. Heat is provided through electric baseboard heaters. It was too cold to use the outdoor pool which appeared inviting. An internet connection is provided at no cost.
This facility is suitable accommodation for a male hunting group. However, most of us would be well advised to spend some additional funds (more then $110) and enjoy more pleasant surroundings.

Room Tip: Look for something else! Perhaps at Salmon Arm, the next town.

We decided to vacation in the Shuswap area this year for longer than last year when we stopped in for only a couple of days. At first we tried to book the same place in Salmon Arm as last year--as we really liked that place. But it was booked up for the time we had for our vacation, so after searching online (Including here) we decided to try the Paradise Motel (one of the streets running by it is Paradise Ave)
We got a kitchen suite, and it was a pleasant & fun experience.
the owner was very friendly and helpful.
We engaged in some good conversations and some good advice of things to do in the area. (We stayed in Sicamous some days, and took day trips around the area on others)
This place is close to a grocery store and restaurants. It was a short drive to the beach and other attractions.
The pool was fun and refreshing and clean.
The barbecue area was a treat.
there was an issue with our TV, but we didn't travel all that way to watch TV so we weren't using it much, but they did come & check it out to help us.
The staff were all helpful & friendly.

The room was clean, the beds were comfortable.
Yes it was an older style room & some older style furniture & appliances, but they were well maintained.

All in all a wonderful place to stay.

Now we have a difficult choice next time we're staying in the Shuswap area--do we stay here again or the motel from last year?
It won't be an easy choice--but whichever one we choose will be a good choice.
