Located south and (I think0 west of Smithers, it's really, really worth the commute. It's way off the road and HIGH, with a stunning view of the surrounding mountings and a hiking trail on their property and across the very long dirt driveway and road. Surrounded by beautiful and wild flower gardens, cattle and open land, we're enjoying listening to coyotes in the distance. Barbara and Chris (proprietors) are warm and welcoming. One of the friendliest cats I've ever met, too!

We stayed here for one night en route from Prince George to Prince Rupert. The lodge is ten minutes out of town by car. The town does not have a lot to offer by way of restaurants. The lodge is beautiful and the breakfasts amazing and Barbara and Chris were both extremely helpful, but we found the beds hard. Despite this is was a great for one night.

After a three-day stay, my wife said that she's never stayed in a place that she liked more and that she didn't want to leave. Barbara and Chris proved to be terrific hosts: the food was excellent and the advice very helpful. Go to this lodge for quiet, serenity, and warmth.

Fantastic Bed & Breakfast. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the owners and instantly felt at home. Barbara showed us to our rooms and welcomed us with a glass of wine. The rooms were very spacious, clean and had a nice balcony to sit and relax and look at the natural beauty of the surrounding forest. The lodge was absolutely stunning. There is a nice common sitting room, where you can relax by the fire, browse the selection of books or play games. I was really impressed with how Christoph and Barbara made you feel so welcome, they took the time to sit and talk with you and provided such excellent service. The food was amazing, can't say enough about it. I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely return.

Based on Trip Advisor Reviews, we discovered The Logpile Lodge that is owned and operated by two very special, (and talented!), people. Christoph and Barbara built the lodge from logs out of the surrounding forests of Smithers, thus the genesis of the name. Upon entering the lodge, we immediately felt its warmth and beauty. We were greeted with a big welcome and given a beverage while we sat down to relax. They offered to help carry our luggage and get us settled in our lovely room. The rooms are spacious with a subtle European ambiance enhanced by the open hand-hewn log architecture and remarkable views of the surrounding forests and/or mountains and glaciers. The entire lodge is kept meticulously clean. A comfortable “living room” for all to use is situated in the lower level complete with wood burning fireplace, library, couches and tables. The main floor dining area is also warm and comfortable with a fireplace, art, windows with beautiful views and tables arranged for open, comfortable yet private dining. Breakfast is custom prepared each morning, to order, or served buffet style, and is beyond delicious with home-made bread, mouth watering omelets, & fresh fruits. Once or twice per week, Christoph and Barbara prepare an evening meal for lodge guests and people from the surrounding area. This is not to be missed! Here’s where their talents as gourmet chefs really shine! Absolute perfection. We have some serious food allergies, and when Barbara and Christoph became aware of this, they went out of their way to insure our meals met our needs, ----- something that really was “above and beyond” our expectations. The lodge sits high atop a hill providing incredible views and plenty of solitude. All told, the Logpile Lodge is a very special place operated by a very special family and we plan to return again in the near future.

We picked the Logpile lodge a bit last minute based on good online reviews and very reasonable pricing. We have no regrets! The staff were warm and welcoming, the room clean, spacious and full of rustic charm. Breakfast was meticulously prepared and came in generous portions. The setting of the lodge is perfect for a more quiet getaway away from busy streets, but Smithers remains very accessible with a short car ride. We definitely plan to return to the Logpile at our upcoming visit to the area!

Room Tip: Upstairs gives a better view and nice high ceilings!
