Yesterday's lunch at the Purple Onion consisted of a cup of freshly-made Russian-style Borscht and a scrumptious fish (delicious fresh sole) taco, with fresh veggies and mango salsa in a gluten-free tortilla for only $9.95! Hard to beat the quality and freshness of the food! Good selection of speciality teas. Friendly, very nice owner on site. She makes several gluten-free options too. Can't emphasize enough the freshness, and probably local-sourcing, of most of the ingredients. Café and kitchen work area spotlessly clean. New owner since 6 weeks, awaiting delivery of art to decorate the walls. Tables and chairs indoors as well as a couple of little tables and chairs outside. Very close to Comox Ave and to the Marina. City parking lot available opposite or half a block up the hill on Comox Ave. Easy access for all visitors. Open 8am - 5pm. Do visit the Purple Onion and enjoy a great value lunch or snack!

Friendly warm staff, local healthy food. I love the tortilla pie with a heaping artisan salad for less than $15 ! Drinks menu a bit short but understandable in todays economy.

This is a locals' favourite in downtown Comox, tucked in just up from the marina. Coffee is great & the food is made from scratch.
Supports local food producers & showcases local artists. Owner is present, friendly & very attentive.
Not always the quickest stop, but an espresso drink and food made fresh & from scratch is worth a short wait.

This place may seem like another coffee shop with a panini press, but they are more than just that.

They care about their food and they have very friendly service. They also have local food and are very knowledgeable about what is in their food.

Great addition to the Comox harbour area...
