This was our second time to play Comox Golf Club in the past ten months. The course is charming, almost overrun with deer, and right in town. Both times we had the same experiences: the staff members are great though this last time only one person was working in the pro shop on a very busy Sunday and each time he had to move a cart he locked the door and left folks lined up outside. I would think that two people could man the shop on summer weekends.
However it is the other players I had issue with. On our first occasion about fifteen minutes before a men's event was about to start members walked across our fairway, without apology, enroute to another fairway, thus ceasing our play on the last hole. On our most recent occasion we were harassed by members while waiting to start playing - since we were only two the starter put us on the fourth hole - after waiting about an hour. Members here are full of entitlement and are not the least bit welcoming or hospitable. The following day we played at another local club with entirely different reactions from the members.
