"The Galley" as it has historically been named, has seen numerous incarnations since the 1940's when it first opened. Some iterations having been more successful than others.
This spring it returned to it’s roots and it's original name as an iconic burger joint that was the meeting place for summer cottagers and locals alike in Shawnigan Lake.
The food is basic -burgers, hot dogs and such. We go here with our grandchildren to take in the summer activity on the lake. The children split a grilled cheese sandwich and a plate of fries while we enjoy a beer and burger.
There is a small bar outside, just wide enough for a few stools and a ledge for the kids to enjoy their ice cream cones in their bathing suits.
There is a full service marina and gas bar. Between the boats and the birds there is lots to keep you entertained in the summertime when the living is easy.
